OMG WEIRD! I was telling my b/f how I purchased one and I thought for sure he would think I was psycho. Instead, he was so cute and he said the same thing you did. He said, "you always spend a lot on your clothes and accessories, so you should protect your expensive investment". I was almost shocked. LOL I must be training him well to deal with my craziness!
See they must have picked up something while they have known us. Mine is obsessed with Pearl Jam and purchases Pearl Jam posters ALL THE TIME. I went to his parent's house on Friday night where he stores all of them because we both move around so much b/c of medical school and OMG...it was insane. He had to have $20,000+ worth of posters down there. I jokingly said I was going to take them all and sell them, and he threatened to do the same with my shoes and purses and well, needless to say I called it a truce. LOL But, he is psycho about them and makes sure they are well stored and rolled up properly, so I think that's why he got the purse hook thing.

Thank you so much for this link! I ordered one as soon as I saw it and it came in today. It was $17 including shipping- YAY! It doesn't have the magnet like the ones at luxe link but that's okay considering the price. It is so cute and we're going out to dinner tonight so I get to test it out. I never even knew about purse hooks before I joined tPF! How did I ever manage?!
I gave the Luxe Link one to myself, my sister, and my mother and they were so thrilled. The thing is amazing. It even holds my Chloe Paddington that weights a TON literally. LOL I'm so glad you are happy with your purchase too!
My hook from Couture Caddy arrived yesterday and it's pretty cool how much weight it can hold. I had to stay away from the magnet kind because I'm trying to stop demagnetizing all my transit tickets.
I am slowly giving in to the idea. Yesterday, we were at a really cute Italian restaurant, and there was no where to put my purse but on the floor......which I did not do...so it sat in my lap under my napkin. I was thinking that the table we were at would have been perfect to spot a hook because we were in the corner and no one would have bumped into it.
