Proenza Schouler Care and Maintenance Thread

I just saw this @proenzaschouler twitter,

Q: do you recommend any kind of leather care for the ps1?

A: You can gently apply a little Nivea unscented lotion with a cotton cloth.

That's soooo funny. When my mom made her most recent purchase (the perforated black Bal), the SA told her that Bal recommends gently cleaning with unscented Lubriderm once every two weeks. So I guess we'll be Nivea girls!

LOL!!! You're too funny! I used to use Cetaphil lotion to my Bal bags before.

eLm--I'm thinking about getting a suede bag and wondered how yours has held up. did you end up using a protectant spray? Take it toMmodern Leathers? thanks!

hi ladies, where can i find vectra? i only have apple garde and some LMB products, not sure if they will suffice?? i'm in an all year round sunny place so i'm sure my smoke will be exposed to quite abit of sunlight! apple garde didnt help my balenciaga with fading so i doubt it will help with my PS1..

I ordered mine from their website.

It's very affordable, by comparison to LMB products. I prefer Vectra because (a) I've seen it work first-hand and (b) there's no scent. I detest the smell of LMB products!!

^ ^ ^ Hmm... any photos of the black marks? Are they "speckles," or something larger?

I doubt it was caused by the Vectra spray. In my experience, all of the leather looks a bit darker immediately after application, but it lightens up to the original color within half an hour or so.

I just looked at a teal PS1 in person at Barneys today, and the color looked very consistent to me. I didn't notice any abnormalities like that.

These are just a couple of spots that have it. I emailed CS and they said to use a damp cloth but I'm scared haha

Hello lovely ones,

I got this lovely pink suede PS1 from NAP earlier this year, and sadly, there are already some nasty denim transfer on the back:sad: I was wondering if it still can be saved? Actually I wouldn't mind it anyway...since I always throw my bags around so yeah probably should have expected it, given that it's a light suede colour! But still, would be good if I can actually take the denim transfer off the lovely bag! Will be happy for any advice, thanks everyone! x

I used Meltonian waterproof spray on my new suede PS1 medium raspberry.
i also used it on suede boots, isabel marant. Two coats, let dry 30 min in between each spray.
Did not change color or affect the look of the bag.

Gosh, in that state, I'd probably take it to a specialist and have it cleaned. It is amazing what they can do.
