I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

He’s been in the public eye his entire life as the heir to the throne. There isn’t anything new for UK citizens to discover about him, they already know what they are getting.

For UK members: is Charles popular with the average person like the Queen was?

In some ways the problems with Harry and Meghan may have helped Charles. Everyone can identify with having difficult family members and he has gained sympathy as a result.

I think Charles is popular with the average Brit/Northern Irish. Anti-monarchists will always be anti-monarchy, they just didn't stand a chance against the late Queen, so now they feel 'obliged' to voice their opinion.

Harry's unpopularity has a large impact on the bearing of the RF overall, which is why presumably anti-monarchists support him. If Harry was an anti-monarchist, why doesn't he renounce ALL titles? And if anti-monarchists are so anti, why are they hanging onto the coattails of a Prince (and TW)?

Just putting on my tinfoil hat: maybe the anti-monarchists support him because if they overthrow the BRF and install Sparry and Zed as the new rulers, they can mould Nutjob and Nutmeg into the kind of monarchy that the anti-monarchists prefer? I'm speculating that they correctly surmise all the twosome want is money and bragging rights, so they can be turned into a carnival sideshow to bring in tourist $$$ while costing less than the current royals.

I don't know if it's true or not, but I read that picture was photoshopped to make her look even worse than she already did. In the picture of her being "fitted" for it a few pages back she did not look this bad. And this concludes my support of MM for today.

That dress was such a disaster that I’m wondering if they purposely tailored it in the worst possible way, because they didn’t like her.
Front isn’t much better than the back.

I think the anti-monarchist supporters must believe (wrongly) that when Harry walked away he was leaving the monarchy. In reality he was leaving behind all the inconvenient responsibility and duty that he and Meghan were expected to accept like all the other working royals.

Actually the bigger disaster with her is the undergarments. Unless you’re Karlie Kloss you have to have the perfect undergarments if you’re wearing such a tailored, fitted dress. She could have looked 10 times better if she wore proper underwear even with this cape ridiculousness.
