I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

No, KC didn’t show up barefoot on the Italian beach for a million dollar chat. No, he did not launch a glitzy award show in the name of Mother Earth. Still, the then Prince Charles was ahead of his time. His climate change talks were so much easier to listen to then than Hazzi’s are now. PC did make an effort to change BRF practices even while flying his helicopter, planes and riding in cars that are heavy polluters, living in multiple palaces, etc. Credit to him for making a solid effort. He was not the first to champion our earth, nor did he make it glitzy. Jacques Cousteau and others used stunning visual images to show us unknown worlds and make the damage real. I don’t begrudge W his fleet of cars or his helicopter or his palaces, he, too, seems to be making somewhat of an effort. His talks about the future changes we should all make are less of a lecture and more of a chat. Still, is he paying the offset charges? What else is he doing?

Hazz, very different situation - of them all, he embodies ‘rules for thee, not for me’. :throwup: It would have been a very powerful statement if KC had said Hazz is not attending in an effort to save the planet. Every little bit helps, no?

Imo - Hazz worked out some sort of financial arrangement with Pa. That is why he is going. The world is well aware of his strong dislike of royal life and Camilla. So why pledge his allegiance? $$$$€€€€.

His father said he wasn’t a bank. The financial arrangement is between Harry and his masters at Netflix He needs this for his future or he has no worth as a paid puppet for any of the companies that want to use him. The fool should have thought that through before he started dumping on the source of his gloriousity. His father did him a favor by allowing him to show up. If The King had cut him loose, his value woukd be zero.

Thankfully the Wales all 5 spent quality time at balmoral that summer As did most of the others just not TW. The Queen did not want her there

ETA: apologies, the cynic in me won’t let go of the idea that KC is paying Hazz to attend - via his assistants, of course.
ETA2: even if she is hunched, it will be remembered as a historic photo [esp w/ no kids].

Harry's unpopularity has a large impact on the bearing of the RF overall, which is why presumably anti-monarchists support him. If Harry was an anti-monarchist, why doesn't he renounce ALL titles? And if anti-monarchists are so anti, why are they hanging onto the coattails of a Prince (and TW)?

Being Northern Irish and a Unionist I strongly disagree an awful lot of us have no time or respect for KC as we did for his beloved mother
