Prince Harry and Meghan Markle thread

I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

Thanks for reading.

So Harold The Hostage is afraid of Johnny...

I hope he's once again seated near H... Or actually, have H surrounded by MI6 and Johnny blocking that ugly mug by sitting right in front of him.
Those three are the dream team. Two MI6 and Johnny. The lady's face says it all. The real M.

OK, this is silly. SheKnows is a hack writer site, the writer Kristyn Burtt spins lightweight trash, and I'm ignoring the first sentence about Charles & Kate. The writer is claiming that Zed is wise to reject royal life so that she can focus on meaningful work. Errr, didn't she reject royal life three years ago? How long is she going to take to change focus?

"Royal Expert"? I think not.

There is in fact only one rock star at a coronation, and that is the in-coming sovereign.

I’m not saying Tyler knows anything about sex workers (beyond his friendship with one) but this very transactional view sounds like something a bossy John would say to (say) a rent boy.:graucho:

I digress, I’m a bit of a negative Nancy about the likely news of just H coming tbh. My first reason is I think if these kids are royalty now they should attend because they carry the name of the state and also they are surely part of the family - it feels like they are isolating and excluding the innocent kids rather than the b**ch wife. I also would be entertained by all the actor/doll speculation.

TBH I don’t think M’s that upset - it’s a bit of a win/win situation for a narcissist. If she goes she gets attention (and they like even negative attention). If she doesn’t go she can play it off as her not respecting C the way she did QE and them being unfair to her and gets to do passive aggressive press and get attention.

To me, the best response would have been publicly not inviting any of them. Tell them you want to save the environment by avoiding another jet flight.

If I hear them ridiculously use the word “authentic” one more time, I’m going to vomit.

As soon as I saw that word I knew she had written the statement. Kind of like “her truth”.

God, that white hat was SO bad. Whoever made the joke about her finding it at the seasonal section of Walgreens, I am still laughing at that years later.

Dontcha just love that frozen smile on the ILBW's face as she's trying to pretend that they're not under very close observation?

Or maybe, with her monstrous ego, she thinks that the dishy Major managed to get assigned a seat right behind her because he has the hots for her?

(Wait, we need something a bit more emphatic here...)

Both the Harkle kids have zero experience, training, or exposure to events of this size and magnitude. Lillibet is simply too young at a little under 2 years of age. Prince Louis at age 5 is closest in age to Archie, age 4, since he’s only a year older. But the exposure Louis has had to public events involving massive crowds is light years away from Archie who has had zero exposure to such events so far. To throw a child, who by all accounts has led a very quiet life to date, into the massive spectacle of the coronation with no preparation is doing a disservice to the child. Louis, at age 4, was not at either of the Queen’s funeral masses. I believe Louis will be part of the coronation parade but I’m not sure if he will be at the actual coronation ceremony either. It’s hard to expect children of that age to sit still for such a long period of time during a very solemn (and probably very boring to them) occasion and you don’t want screaming, crying children interrupting such a historic event either.

if Johnny was seated behind me, I would awkwardly be looking for excuses to turn around and stare at that face.

Heck, be proactive! Pretend to faint. Since the Major-Now-Colonel is both a gentleman and a highly trained and experienced soldier, I'm sure he would use his extensive First Aid training to do his very best to revive you.

I'll be right behind you.

The spin in the event of a Merchie Meltdown would be...
Sobbing Doting Meg (wailing from her position on the kitchen floor): I told them that he was too young but they refused to listen! They tore him from my bosom and disconnected the mic! My dear sweet (insert some nickname Diana used for Sparry to drive home the Diana v.2 comparisons). It ruined our birthday party! The elderflower cream melted while he was getting over his trauma! My darling husband suffered a flashback and shoved his todger into the freezer!"

I will actually be surprised if Louis is at the Abbey tbh. I hope he is.
If everything was OK and H&M were still working Royals, A&L would definitely be too young for the Abbey but it would've been lovely for them to be on the balcony.
Or again, if everything that has happened didnt happen and they were getting the privacy they wanted living their own lives, H&M would've gone to the Coronation, no balcony but all four will have been in the historic photographs forever, as family.
