I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

There could have been other women along the way but he wasn’t a womanizer on the level of his father, who had over 100 lovers and left money to about a dozen of them when he died. So I don’t think there is anything sexual about Meghan’s visits. It’s all about persuading him to give her $$$$ for something.

I can imagine how she schmoozed him. Probably gushed about how much she admired what he has done with his foundation and how she would be soooo appreciative of any advice he could give her! She isn’t the first person to ever think of kissing up to a rich man, but that is the ego that is Meghan.

Unless Gordon has become senile in recent years, he recognized it for what it was. Maybe he gave her some recommendations and then sent her and that portfolio she always carries to meetings on their way.

I agree. If she is meeting with him, it's because she's after a huge donation to her personal slush fund charitable foundation. His family would be concerned if she's trying for some really large amount, like $100 million or more. Not that they couldn't afford it, and probably a big chunk of his estate is likely going to charity anyway upon his death, but there are plenty of charities that do amazing work with proven track records that they've supported for decades including ones that have their family name, so why take a chance on a start up run by those two?

From MM and Harry's POV, one huge donation would perhaps lead to others as it would provide some level of credibility so that's why they'd go after the Getty's and other very wealthy families and why we heard about Harry having lunch with the Annenberg matriarch a year or so ago.

Which makes the likelihood of the 10 mil donation being from themselves to themselves very possible. We have a saying in Chinese 抛砖引玉， which literally means to toss a brick to influence others to toss over their jade. So by donating 10 mil to themselves through a 3rd party to establish their credibility, they hope to attract others to "throw" money at Archewell too.
