I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

Yes, T&G do have plenty of made-up stuff. DM has an article now where the commenters are throwing in all kinds of falsehoods.

I feel like the speculation is so out there at this point that it undermines the real issues with having…people..like this run around and blather their blather unfettered.

I know that the UK has more rules around speech that harms (so I’ve read, someone correct me if I’m wrong). In the US we think that people can run their mouth almost with impunity. Libel doesn’t come up much and defamation can be hard to prove. So here you go, Exhibit A.

Most people are happy if they win the lottery, they think they're so lucky.

M doesn't think she's lucky because she schemed very hard to get that winning ticket, now she thinks winning the lottery is a career path.

I don't have a formed opinion...it sounds very out there, but also this totally unsuitable person snagged one of the most eligible bachelors in the world.

What I do find interesting is that it it talked about openly for everyone to see when even a few months ago people where way more careful.
