I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

If H’s verbal diarrhea about Taliban kills results in an uptick of threats to security as the days go on, the government may ban their appearance as a cautionary move. The Coronation has an internationally high profile group of invitees.

He will separate support for the monarchy as an institution from personal support from his father and family. If he keeps them separate then he appears to be less of a hypocrite. I believe he won’t have to swear an oath publicly as William will do so for all the nobles so he gets off the hook.

He may not be convincing about separating them, but I think it can be done. People have supported the idea of a monarchy through the ages even when they detested the monarch. They managed to get rid of King Charles I lol! Then they brought back his son in the Restoration.

People have become more savvy about charity scams and unless a charity can show that they are doing something productive, and not spending all the money on expenses and executive salaries, why give the particular charity money? Even starting their own church is not going to do it. The IRS is all over that one.

People have become more savvy about charity scams and unless a charity can show that they are doing something productive, and not spending all the money on expenses and executive salaries, why give the particular charity money? Even starting their own church is not going to do it. The IRS is all over that one.

I hope they are finally being seen for who they are. However, considering how they easily convinced Netflix, Spotify, and Random House to give them millions, I have no doubt they could persuade some naïve foundations to partner with them and keep the cash flow going.

I agree with you, but we've seen that these two are very good at spinning things to "their truth". My guess is that they will absolutely go no matter what because: 1) they need to refresh the Royalty in their image and maybe realize there may not be many more opportunities; 2) for their next round of Victimhood, because they've realized that it sells and they don't have anything else to sell. The only thing that makes them remotely interesting is the proximity to the BRF, and I think even they must realize that deep down, even though they probably do believe much of their own PR.

So they'll spin it as sacrificing themselves (and their poor, overlooked, titleless children) once again on the altar of the monarchy. They tried oh-so-hard to reconnect with Harry's family and offer their forgiveness for their past mistreatment by the BRF/media/British people. It's what Harry's beloved grandparents wanted, as Gan-Gan always told them in their regular zoom calls. But alas, the evil triad of William/Catherine/Camilla once again turned poor Pa against them. My guess is they'll set their own photographers up to look for the shots of poor lost Meg alone in a corner because the mean racists in the family won't talk to her, and a shot of Harry looking beseechingly at Charles or William while the other is looking the other way. Just like the Jubilee and the Funerals, any time they're treated as "less" than William (or, you know, like the rest of the family) they'll walk away with an updated catalogue of woes for their next media project. They literally have nothing else to offer the world.

maybe so but in the case of netflix and spotify, they were doing the partnering to make money....what would philanthropists have to gain by partnering with them?

They have not been very, uh, self-aware in the past. How could that demon spawn go back and show her face after The Queen's death, pretending she was oh so affected? And yet she did.
