I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

True about Charles. There were plenty of other family members around as well. When Princess Charlene was ill, Albert’s sisters stepped up and were with with the twins. He also made a point of taking them to many of his appearances. Recent pictures look like they are all doing well. To paraphrase HC, sometimes it does take a village.

Excellent point. Imo Edward and Anne have done an outstanding job of raising their children. Charles and Andrew, iffy. Anne had her share of turmoil, albeit under the radar and nothing like Charles and Andrew, still her two children have grown up well. Sophie and Ed seem to have provided the best stability.

It’s usually a bridal thing (or Maybe a cult? lol)

Don't worry, NDAs are not like that in the UK, H violated her privacy and forced her to 'come out'. It's only her employment she can't talk about.

Besides, I think at the time she says she wasn't working at Highgrove so that period wasn't covered. She could easily counter-sue, she had no option and had to limit the damage.

NOT that she's said this, but I think the whole incident was deliberate and premeditated on H's part. He bought 10 drinks (illegally) at the same time., deliberately with the intent to get her (and himself) drunk, probably suggesting they go out to smoke when people were allowed to smoke in pubs (although also illegal to buy cigarettes under 18) jumping on her in a field and never talking to her again. Put it this way, it definitely was NOT her idea.

He wasn't used as a stallion, she was used as a cheap and easy f***!

And then he brags about it. KC would never, ever sue her, it would make him look really bad.

I don’t know whether Diana was a good mother or not. But Harry had two parents and one of them didn’t die when he was only 12. Why does Charles get a pass for not raising his son right? Who better to teach Harry how to be a prince than his own father, the prince! He was too busy pursuing his own interests and he didn’t spend enough time with them. The boys were pretty much left to their own devices as teens. Maybe Harry’s drug and alcohol problems could have been avoided if his father had been paying attention to what his son was doing.

IMO people gave him every excuse and too much slack after his mother died, he really worked that little boy lost.

He is also very susceptible to peer pressure and being one of the gang as some of his 'memoir' anecdotes indicate. Maybe, this is why M found him so easy to manipulate, she promised him a whole new gang of world famous 'A' list friends, liars and con-people do that. On the other hand, I really don't care about him. They thoroughly deserve each other.

I believe there are anecdotes showing Diana was a terrible mother (agree with @lulilu ).
And, also, that Charles and everyone else spoiled H and let him do what he wanted and got him out of trouble bc he was the spare. At some point, adult children who are total a$$hats cannot continue to blame parents

Lol! In my experience most public high school seniors wear traditional caps & gowns for graduation while private schools may be a bit more personal or creative. MM went to an independent catholic school, this is what their website says so maybe they’ve added gowns now…?

I predict the Harkles will have some major splash in early May. Possibilities ..
1. Trip to Africa, no, they would not get that much press
2. Vol 2 - SPARE REDUX

4. TV commentator ?? No, not enough opportunity to tell their truth while commenting the coronation which will be. A heavily scripted tv show

That’s true. Diana was glorified immediately after her death beyond what any human ever should be. That isn’t her fault. Dying tragically at a young age, particularly a troubled individual, earns iconic status. Marilyn Monroe was incredibly f*cked up and she’s still an icon after 60 years. In recent years, however, the pendulum has swung the other way and it seems like Diana is getting blamed for everything under the sun. I get that. Writers need to write juicy books to get published and dead people cannot sue you. I remember watching Diana on TV with her boys and it was obvious she loved them deeply. Maybe she could have disciplined Harry more as a toddler, but nobody can say it would have made any difference in how he turned out. Harry’s basic personality is something he was born with.

Charles has always been old-fashioned and traditional. He grew up in that era where raising children was left to women. William is spending more of his time with his children and hopefully none of them grow up to be bitter and resentful about him.

Most High School and College graduation ceremonies have the graduates wear a cap and gown with their school colours. Most of the time the gown is just loaned/rented and the cap is purchased. Here in Canada..high school graduates have individual photos done in their cap & gowns as well.
