I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

Most High School and College graduation ceremonies have the graduates wear a cap and gown with their school colours. Most of the time the gown is just loaned/rented and the cap is purchased. Here in Canada..high school graduates have individual photos done in their cap & gowns as well.

As I said in my post it's (usually) the school colours. My child just graduated from Catholic HS and their colours were Blue/Gold.
ETA School colours are used for sports and other representation, perhaps her school didn't have such curriculum and went with White *shrug*

Private schools have different traditions many times. Even all female colleges in the US , back in the day. My older brother’s GF graduated from Vassar and at the time there were certain traditions for graduating seniors that would be deemed almost politically incorrect by today’s standards.

My high school’s colors were green and white. For graduation the boys wore green and the girls wore white. I bet they all wear the same color these days.

It was while he was at Ludgrove, aged 8 to 13 and old enough to know better. It was not a one off, it was a pattern of behavior done deliberately to make his mates laugh at her. He claims she laughed. Bullocks, she was probably dying inside and trying not to cry. His description is mean spirited and, including her name, she would be easily identified. It was many years ago and I frankly hope she is not alive to have to read this, and if she has family, they have been spared seeing his denigration of a loved one.

His callousness is compounded in writing about it. A man of honor would have matured and come to recognize his cruelty, feel shame, remorse, and hope such behavior stayed buried. Instead as an adult male, he thinks he was so cutely cheeky in entertaining his friends he puts it out there expecting us to chuckle at his antics. That he cannot fathom casually describing his disgusting behavior says really derogatory things about “the man he has become” is disturbing to me.

If I were some of the maimed participants in Invictus, I would question his sincerity and wonder if disfigurements and impairment seen in the Games are the source of joking to him now, as Pat’s were then. He certainly doesn’t exhibit any maturity.

Hawry is having a well deserved miserable week:

First, a down to earth, decent, hard working commoner, a former stable groom at Highgrove, reveals herself as the “older woman” who initiated his todger during a brief romp in a field. Then, when asked in an interview with Piers Morgan if she thinks H traded “up” or “down” when he married Mz Markle, laughingly replies “down”. She comes across as a sensible, well grounded woman, doesn’t bash H, but points out his hypocrisy in claiming to want privacy, but instead seeks celebrity though Netflix and the book. She also makes it clear she had no warning their coupling 21 years ago was going to be published, especially with explicit details that were known to a group of people and made her identity easily recognizable.
(I think it’s a testament to the regard her friends at the time hold for her that none of them used their knowledge to “out her”).

Second, during a visit to the University of East London, his father, King Charles III, mishears a question shouted at him about “bringing back Harry” and responds “Who?”, making the crowd laugh. When he realizes what just happened, he too laughs.

I mean not to be incredibly shady but she graduated in theatre studies and her mum graduated in social work so essentially
1. acting flirty and politicking for the big roles
and/or
2. profiling people based on their income and background.

For some reason I don’t find it that difficult to believe they got those qualifications and I’m sure that man they don’t speak to paid for it.
