I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

Frankly, I can't think of anyone who knows less about fashion - and I have a cat on my bed who won't even wear his extortionately expensive collar I bought him for Christmas. I'm thinking of extending it and wearing it myself.

I think it is a skill some people never master. I couldn't even wear them when I was young. My daughter begged me for a pair of Louboutin pumps when she was in college and I bought them as a Christmas gift. I laughed when we went out to dinner and she teetered on them from the car into the restaurant. Years later they sit in her closet, rarely worn.

ITA. I very seldom wore heels when I was young, so now at 65 it's out of the question! But also neither of my DDs, who are in their early 40's, wears heels. Maybe it's just a family thing, lol!

In a way, I think the Markles have probably done the BRF some favours.

Harry and his moll were always going to be annoying to put out to grass, feeling at liberty to arrange annoying things when visiting the UK (like their own walkabout after the Queen's funeral) or pretending to be representing the BRF places abroad (can't see that NY NY walk thing being rolled out for them these days).

No-one can be confused now.If you support the monarchy or want a cordial relationship with the UK, you cannot do business or entertain these two charlatans. H&M are both persona non grata.

But they must be surrounding themselves with staff who constantly flatter their egos or 100% agree (and who quit within 12-18 months).

Even in H’s recent interviews, he didn’t take accountability or consider that he was wrong, with ”what did we do wrong?”, acted like the Royal family was jealous of H and M being the most popular royals.

I don’t know why they think the Australia tour was a huge success. Media did fawn on them, but mostly we didn’t care.

They still think they can blackmail their way to half in/out. And stupidly the BRF, by continuing to invite them to events gives them this taste.

H and M don’t see the irony in attending, even if they don’t get the “apology”, “summit negotiations”, “specialty seating” etc that they have been demanding.

I want to see both Harry and Meghan pledge their allegiance to the King (and Kingdom) in order to keep their titles. I want to see them both curtesy to him and kiss his hand, and pledge a life of service to that racist, horrible institution to which has given them the notoriety they crave.

The brain-dead bozos: We attended the funeral/Jubilee/coronation to graciously offer them a chance to make amends, but they were too ashamed to face us!

I understand there is exaggeration and embellishment in writing these impact reports, but the Harkles seem to have gone too far imo. The dollar amounts were provided by their minister of propaganda.

I think this is the part of the H&M saga that I find so fascinating. I wonder if the two of them have ever taken a step back and examined the timing of the shift in their popularity more closely and taken any ownership of the rapid descent.…

They claim they were so popular when Meghan first entered the RF scene that others in the RF were jealous of the attention they were receiving, so Camilla, Prince (now King) Charles and others launched a smear campaign against them (or, at a minimum, they claim the RF did nothing to stop the press attacks against them). All the while H&M say they were forced to sit idly by in silence.

Yet now that H&M have abandoned their RF duties and are in full control of their story, able to voice every complaint they’ve ever had, their popularity has gone straight down, on both sides of the ocean now.

So, in a nutshell, they felt attacked and stifled when entrenched in the RF, unable to defend themselves, yet since leaving and finally being able to voice their own “defense”, they have actually done more damage to their own reputations than any supposed smear campaign by the RF or the British press ever did. Talk about a self inflicted wound. Ohhhh, the irony.
