Prince Harry and Meghan Markle thread

I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

Thanks for reading.

Appears to just be pins that the tailor put into to take in the area under her bu
Why would it be pinned closed for a slit in the back. To be honest, it looks better with buttons as it gives it some interest. Its just so ugly and blah
The dress was way too tight in the end, so obviously she requested it that way.

It wasn't that I don't think.

Ladies who were 7, 8 months pregnant demonstrated they had to open their legs whilst squatting. Something to do with having a ribcage, topping over etc. They were pointing out that physically it's actually impossible to do what M did if a woman was pregnant at that stage.

Back to this again I’m thinking that Kate has the body of an athlete. She trains every day and you can see that she’s slim but toned and muscled.

TW I’ve only seen doing yoga poses with her legs very wide apart. Now if this was her previous job and her favourite pose ;) and how she got Harry, she clearly isn’t into traditional fitness.

Maybe that’s why Kate was able to crouch so easily.

Love Ferragamo shoes, had a gorgeous pair of heels which I gave to DD after my diagnosis of MS
Worked for Ferragamo while doing my degree and yup, hard not to buy their shoes!
Back in the 80s when I was a relatively poor twentysomething I always admired them on older women (40s haha) in my firm. They stand the test of time.

She wouldn’t miss it. Historic occasion, opportunity to cause drama/steal attention with photos going down in history books, wear jewels and an expensive outfit. She will do something to cause a scene.

The thought of the attention alone probably gives her a narc high.

And they need to show royal adjacency - for their next book, tv series etc.
if they dare to make an appearance after all the sh$t they have pulled then they are truly shamless. They will have gone beyond the beyond

Who am I kidding....they *are* shameless and as someone else pointed out here today, the only class they possess is low class.

I think Charles is in a hard spot. No matter what he does in regard to his wayward POS son, half the people will be unhappy with him
So being a king is like being a politician?

Seriously though, one of the perks of being a king used to be you didn’t have to care whether your subjects were happy with you. The job has changed.

She used this monstrosity in her Nutflix doc, so she obviously can't see what the rest of the world sees  I have a question about the dress in the documentary. Where did the buttons on the back go?

Fit is part of the issue with the photo on the right but her posture does not help either. If she stood with her legs together it would not pull and pucker the way it does. She has very little grace and elegance when it comes to posture. The walkabout with the 4 of them looking at the flowers that were laid after the death of the Queen she is barely able to walk in her heels and looks awkward. The Princess of Wales is very elegant and graceful when she walks in very high heels and also the way she stands. I am not sure if it is because she is tall but she is always the epitome of elegance. She never sashays - I cannot say that for Megain.

I really don’t want them at the Coronation. Any more than I want the Spice Girls there.

But I really do want them at the Coronation if they’re going to be contained and sidelined. What would be great was if the TV and media decided not to show them AT ALL.

If they’re separated I think she won’t come, she only looks confident around the Royals when she’s hanging off Harry. She will always feel like the poor relative around them because she doesn’t fit in.

In so far as Harry’s crush on Kate, I think he did too but more of an innocent, non sexual, crush. On the other hand if I’m wrong and he was obsessed with her it might go part of the way to explaining his hatred for William. Not only a spare, not only a wifeless drip but his brother has the woman he wants.
One school of thought is that it would be better to have them at the coronation because they would be under control like at the Jubilee. Manage their movements, seat them in specific places, no allowing them on the balcony, and keeping them with the other members of the family who will watch dog them. It could be done in such a way that the Wales really don't have to interact with them. There is definitely something to this. The alternative is that Harry will shoot his mouth off endlessly whether it is as a commentator or just giving his unwanted criticisms regarding what is going on.

I don't think that William will agree to having them or just him there unless they are kept as far apart as possible. Outside of the walkabout prior to the funeral itself, there was no evidence that these four people interacted at all. I am willing to bet that when Sophie Wessex had to share the car with Meghan, that not a word was said between them.

Sometimes I wonder what must go through KC’s head. On the one hand he has Harry and whether he wants a reconciliation with him or not he’s going to upset people. The public, undoubtedly some of his own family and William.

If he truly values the Monarchy as QEII did he simply cannot give in to Harry, choosing between the sons isn’t a matter of which one he prefers. He has to support his one and only heir.

If there was ever a time I’d wanted to be a fly on the wall it was when I saw poor Sophie stuck in the car with Meghan. I’d be so ashamed to be ignored by such a warm and kind woman as Sophie.

Unfortunately, I think whether the gruesome twosome attend the coronation or not, their PR machine will churn out attention grabbing bs. At the Queen’s funeral there was a non stop barrage of nonsense about whether or not H would be allowed to wear his uniform, and then when he was allowed to wear his uniform when the grandchildren stood vigil, why were the ER badges removed from his epaulettes, and on and on. As if it was all done to spite him instead of totally in keeping with the protocol governing when and where retired servicemen can wear uniforms, etc. They did everything they could to shift the focus away from the Queen and her amazing 70 years of service. While I’m no fan of Andrew, he had the decency to keep his mouth shut and accept the role he was assigned. So one can only imagine what nonsense they’ll spew during the coronation to highlight real or imaginary slights so they can play the victim card once again and keep the focus on them instead of the coronation.
