Prince Harry and Meghan Markle thread

I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

Thanks for reading.

I'm sure there are women who are very fit and can crouch in heels while pregnant. I wouldn't use that solely as an indicator of whether MM was pregnant or not.

It wasn't that I don't think.

Ladies who were 7, 8 months pregnant demonstrated they had to open their legs whilst squatting. Something to do with having a ribcage, topping over etc. They were pointing out that physically it's actually impossible to do what M did if a woman was pregnant at that stage.

This appears to be a non-PSed rear view of the green dress. Still not a good look. What is it with her and that stance?

She used this monstrosity in her Nutflix doc, so she obviously can't see what the rest of the world sees  I have a question about the dress in the documentary. Where did the buttons on the back go?

She wouldn’t miss it. Historic occasion, opportunity to cause drama/steal attention with photos going down in history books, wear jewels and an expensive outfit. She will do something to cause a scene.

The thought of the attention alone probably gives her a narc high.

And they need to show royal adjacency - for their next book, tv series etc.

That's what I think as well. These two are shameless with no decorum, and if Harry has any doubts she will push for an appearance.

Love Ferragamo shoes, had a gorgeous pair of heels which I gave to DD after my diagnosis of MS
Worked for Ferragamo while doing my degree and yup, hard not to buy their shoes!
One of the best lines in an old TV series came when the character's mother went through the rubble of their home that had been trashed by a storm and picked up a shoe and said "nothing like a pair of good Ferragamos!"

Poor Justin being pulled into this, he'll get depressed all over again. I don't actually believe the story though.

That dress is/was more awful and awkward than I thought. I really don't like that front panel that is supposed to be wound around the neck. I had no idea is was attached to the front of the waist like an out of control apron.

The dress before 'alterations' was also longer - to her ankles.

It's absolutely hideous

Unless one is not aware of the Harkles' saga, it's difficult to sympathize with them. More books and interviews they release, more people realize what they are and less sympathy they have imo. :girlsigh:

"I think they thought there would be a similar level of sympathy to that following the Oprah interview so I think they probably have been quite shocked.

"Americans in general are a sympathetic bunch and I am generalising when I say that and I think Harry and Meghan have enjoyed that level of sympathy that they perhaps weren't given in the UK.

"But I think they will have been shocked by some of the negative pushback, I don't think that was expected it at all.
"

Truly hoist by their own petard!

Live by the sword, die by the sword.

Point a finger at someone else, there are 3 pointing back.

Karma.

They both knew what they were doing. They planned this long before the wedding. Enough, enough with all of them.

One of the EU royal ladies was wearing the long version. The picture was posted on the Royalty fashion thread. It didn't look that much better on her either.

I freely admit that I do not understand the attraction of cape dresses. There is just too much fabric and complication and they look heavy and uncomfortable and like you are trying to hide in your clothing.

ETA: Just realized that if you are looking for a petard for hoisting yourself, a cape dress can come in handy.

Lady SusanH was there, too.

An aside: has anyone identified Anne’s scarf? Is she sending us a message or is my imagination working overtime? :giggle:

Cape dresses are one thing

Apron dresses that spin from one's middle to around the neck are quite another :sunnies:
