FYI, replacing a snap used to only cost $30. The $85 quote to replace a snap reflects the recent price increase.

$265 is the OLD price for full refurbishment (see old price list posted on first page of this thread). The sales associate was incorrect. If you ask for full refurbishment, they will charge more than $265. Glad you only needed one snap fixed!

The old price for replating hardware/chains was $165. When you pick up your bags, please let us know what the new price is per bag.

Hi Chi town Chanel! I was wondering if you knew how they replated hardware and chains for older bags. I know some of the older bags were 18K gold plated but that this isn't done in newer bags. If I were to bring in an older gold-plated bag, would they still be able to fix it? Thank you!

Hi! I don't think replating involves gold plate anymore, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

They can replate the hardware depending on the bag. If it is a common color like black, it isn't a problem. They take the leather out of the strap, plate the metal, then insert new leather through the chains. If you have an unusual color from a vintage bag, it is more difficult because they have to match the leather to reinsert into the chain after plating. I'm not sure why it would be so difficult, but I have been told that sometimes it is difficult for them if the color is hard to match.

Everything is on a case by case basis. Sometimes the sales associates don't know until they send the bag for repair. If you send it in, the repair professionals will look at it and tell you what can and can't be done. Hope that helps!

Definitely helpful advice, Chi town! Thank you! So the bag that I'm looking at right now is a vintage classic black M/L flap, so not an unusual model. :) It looks like the knob has silver show-through. Would they be able to swap this out as well?

Yes they can switch out the knob/turnlock for you. They would normally replace both parts: CC and knob. If your CC is marked with a symbol for gold plate, the new replacement will not have that. You should discuss with your SA to make sure that they understand that you only want the knob replaced, not the CC (if you want to keep the original stamped gold plated CC on the bag). They can include those notes in your repair order.

I'm new here. I was looking how much would it cost me to clean my 2011 chanel lambskin medium flap bag. It's in light blush pink with gold hardware. I just called SA Chanel at Nordstrom Seattle, she said it will cost me around $595. I don't know if that price is a high estimation or just standard cleaning for this type bag, as we only spoke through phone. I live pretty far from downtown, so i don't want to drive all the way there and pay that much. :(
From all the price list i have read here, it seems cost reasonable price, but when i called them they gave me that steep number. Please help.

I was told last summer the price was going up more than double, so this may be why the price she quoted you seemed high compared to the old price of about $260.

I was quoted $565 three months ago for mine, and that price is for full refurbishment so that sounds about right!

Hey everyone! I actually took in my chanel medium double flap for repariting the CC hardware and turnlock.
The associate quoted me $85 for each piece (total of $170 to replace the CC hardware and the turnlock)

This seems very high compared to the price list from 2011. Does this quote sound right and reflect the newest prices??

FYI the associate who helped me was at the 5th ave New York location.

I don't know if you would know, but do they replate the vintage GHW? I have a vintage piece and there's silver show through on the knob. I don't mind paying the $85 but I'm hesitant because I prefer the deeper gold color on the vintage hw vs. the lighter color now. I feel like they would only be able to replace it with the current hardware, right?
