Price Increase Update

I got "the word" that August 1st there will be a price increase. I didn't ask how much and was told that which items would increase was an unknown right now.

At any rate, it's starting to sound less like rumor and more like fact.

I'm glad you enjoyed working with her. I avoided the store for YEARS because I kept running into the same two snooty associates (though I'm softening my stance on one of them). When they came out with the horn scarf rings, I bit the bullet and called the store in search of one. She answered the phone, she was helpful and friendly, and I've spent many thousands of dollars with her since then. I guess you could say that financially, running into Brittany wasn't a good thing. LOL

Brittany helped me that day as well~ She was very considerate and I enjoyed working with her.

This information is all over the place - one person says 12% on August 15, one person says 5%% at end of July, one person says 6% in August-September, one person says just silks, another person says everything. Some stores say they have heard nothing. There cant be this much variance store to store. I hope this can be clarified.

Maybe not from store to store, but perhaps from country to country? With the global economy the way it is, it's possible that they are trying to adjust all prices to the equivalent of the Euro price in France?

According to my SA, they only learned about the price increase from customers coming in and asking. Their manager asked and there WILL be a price increase around August 1, but they are not sure how much and what items will be affected. If I hear any more info, I will certainly let everyone know!

I was at the store around 2 p.m. Brittany called to say that some of the things I wanted had come in, and it was either rush in on a Friday or wait until tomorrow. Like I could wait? LOL Now I just have to wait for the Palais scarf in the colorway I want to come in, and the pen case is on charge/send...yippee!

IMO, you got the best Silkypop bag they make. The black in Marwari is beyond gorgeous. Enjoy!

The new Hermes will be located in the swanky mixed-use development in Buckhead around Peachtree and West Paces. You know the place - where all the rather skanky bars and night clubs once stood. It's supposed to be ready sometime in spring, 2009. BUT, the SA's told me that Lenox is kicking them out at the end of January, and they'll be in temporary quarters until their new space is built out. Can you imagine Hermes roughing it in "temporary space!" No moving sale, unfortunately; I asked. But, the new store will be about three times the size they're in now at Lenox. Maybe, they'll have to bring in lots of Birkins to fill up all those new display cases! We can hope anyway. I'll see you there!

Darn it is right! That would have been wonderful...The traffic was a bit congested we got stuck on 75 for an hour and a 1/2....You were right to vamoose out of there. Where are they moving to?

Sorry you got stuck in the Friday Exodus! It really is horrific, and I read that our traffic is now worse than LA's.

H. will be moving a bit south - down to Buckhead, around Peachtree and West Paces Ferry, the area once inhabited by all the bars and clubs. Look for them to open late spring, but they'll be in some sort of temporary space after January 31. The new store will be three times the current space - Yippee!

If I were going for practical, Hermes wouldn't be on my radar. LOL

I hate to go further toward Atlanta down Peachtree, but if I have to, I have to. I can understand the move though because Hermes DOES need to be bigger, and it's rare to find the right place in that particular "luxury" wing of Lenox without having to go upstairs--where nobody really ventures. I wonder if it will hurt their sales if customers don't also have access to Neimans, Cartier, LV and so on.

While getting to Lenox is easier than going down Peachtree, the mall will certainly lose any side purchases I would have made. I'll probably start shopping at Brooks Brothers in the future, but as of this minute, I'm kind of shopped out on the rest of the stores. I go to Phipps even less. The Simon malls just won't be getting much of my money anymore.

Back in 2006 I bought my first H bag, my Evelyne, from Brittany via telephone! Small world!! She was great to deal with. When I was in Atlanta in January I stopped in but Brittany wasn't there that day but Oscar showed me all the goodies and he was very gracious and nice.

Someone asked about all the different percentages we've been given. Could it be that different categories are getting increased at different rates? That seemed to be the case in February. It wasn't a hard and fast rule across the board. And it seemed that the exotic bags went up by double or triple what the cowhide bags did. ush:

I am definitely hoping that this is the case - if exotics go up AGAIN at even the same rate as regular leathers, I will be seriously shocked. My thought was that perhaps they will stick to raising certain items and not do an across-the-board increase - the percentage exotics went up in February was absolutely obscene to begin with - the madness needs to stop.

Glad to hear you like her as well! I stopped in one day when Brittany was sick, and the two male associates there that day were very friendly helping me with the color of the H bracelet I would order at a later date. I wish they wore nametags so I could tell who's who. LOL

I was told there'd be an increase by an SA at the SCP store this weekend, but she didn't know how much. When I found out that a bag I liked was $5,100, she said

"That's the price it is now, before the increase."
