Might these posts need attention?

Clearly, I cant speak the same for bags purchased on eBay or Prada outlets because that's where most of you seem to be shopping for your "luxury" needs. FYI if you pay half the price for a bag at the outlet you have to be a simpleton if you expect it to be of the same quality as in authorized boutiques.

It just makes you look ignorant for thinking that that's all they have to offer.

My replies are in purple, hopefully I was able to educate you a bit [snip] simpletons I tell you

:goodpost:

and.. just to add…

Once again, as clueless as they come. Prada only manufactured Linea Rossa collection in countries other than Italy because it was geared towards a bargain shopper such as yourself, someone who wants a name brand but cant really afford luxury prices.

But you have no clue because you know nothing about the brand and are influenced by what media implants in your head.

I know it probably sounds painful to spend that much money on a bag for someone with an average to low incomebut it would be worth it at the end, Trust me....

But of course you wouldn't know that, Please educate yourself or trust someone who has been a part of the brand for a long time. But I assume you are one of the people who own a previously owned prada bag from 10 years ago and think they know everything about the brand, like most of the visitors on this forum.

I bought a new Prada last Sunday. Yesterday I noticed patches of inking on the long strap. I looked more closely all over the bag & noticed that two out of four decorative stitches above the handles have come out & a third is loose.
I rang the store & I'm bringing it in to them next week. I'm very disappointed though & suspect that a replacement could have the same issue with the stitching.
This is a Made In Italy bag so there isn't even the excuse that it was made elsewhere.
I had been looking at a Miu Miu tote & a Saint Laurent Sac du Jour & went for the Prada instead. Wrong move.

I first posted in this thread in 2011 when Prada Psycho started it. Four years later it's still going strong.
Just within the last couple of weeks I bought a new Prada, in store, made in Italy, not on eBay, not in an outlet & the quality issues led to full refund (with no difficulties, I'll add)
My issue isn't with the refund obviously - but the fact that a new bag had to be returned within a week for quality issues.
I do think I was unlucky in this case but it's disingenuous of certain people to suggest that quality & quality control is up to scratch if you only buy from boutiques & that if you are a "simpleton" & buy elsewhere what can you expect?

In fact, it is actually MORE INTELLIGENT nowadays, to buy the older styles, of MUCH BETTER QUALITY, from wherever you may find them. They will be, largely, unique, edgy and well constructed in vastly better materials.

Prada's quality and quality assurance are moribund at the moment. Their styles are boring, conservative, bland and repetitive, and their QA is worse than appalling.

The only simpleton on this forum is the one who had the COMPLETE LACK of KNOWLEDGE and COURTESY to actually use that word. I did detect a LARGE DOLLOP of Prada SA SNOBBERY in each of their posts too. The sort of SA who would not deign to attend anyone of us, commoners that we are, many of whom have more money than we can actually manage to spend.

Hands down to all the tpfers who handle this thread very calm and informative . I have to say ladies, reading this forum from start to finish is very interesting, from a first hand pov, living and working in China, in manufacturing in fabric industry not luxury goods though, salaries in China is higher than 10 yrs ago. It's not as cheap labor as one would think anymore that's why now manufacturing is moving to Vietnam and Bangladesh, I can only say for the clothing industry. And having said that mainland Chinese would buy prada and other high end brands but still prefer (like mention in this forum) made in wherever the brand is from. So I don't think low labor cost is the only reason prada is manufacturing in China because it's not cheap labor anymore I would like to think because they have to keep the demand for their goods. Just my ten cent on this.

I have an old saffiano wallet still works just dirty and it's made in China I got no problem with it but if you would ask me if I will buy a double zip saffiano tote I would definitely check the made in tag, am I crazy?

Thank you for this insightful information. It's funny that companies like Prada want to make all the money from using cheaper labour sources, but obviously are prepared to sacrifice sales to do this. If the upwardly mobile rich young Chinese people want to buy Prada, AND they want it made in Italy, then Prada have rather largely shot themselves in the foot. The emerging market in China for luxury goods is immense and one would have thought that companies like Prada would want to be ridin' that wave bigtime.

I would think so, but I guess Prada might know something we don't
