What is the "pleather fiasco", mentioned at the beginning of this thread? Also, do all suede lined Prada's come from China? Mine has no made in... or white tags. Still trying to find out if it's authentic.

"Pleather" was a synthetic leather lining which Prada used on some bags a few years ago. Not sure whether they still use it. The "fiasco" part came in when they sold the bags a leather lined, when they were lined in this pink fake leather - plastic leather, hence pleather. Charged leather prices but gave us plastic. Pleather was barbie doll pink and had a funny plastic/vinyl smell.

I haven't yet seen a moleskin (suede) lined bag with Made in China but that doesn't mean that they don't exist. If you put some photos of your bag into the authenticate this thread, we can see if it has the requirements of authenticity (or not). And we might be able to clue you in to where the tags might be hidden.

Thank you so much for responding! I bought the bag in a thrift store, luckily it was the Goodwill, which accepts returns. I turned it inside out, including all pockets, but there were no tags of any kind, no serial numbers and the Prada tag was wrong, as well as none of the hardware being signed at all. Even the zipper was wrong. I became very suspicious that it was pleather after the one leather tag marked Prada split and was revealed to be two cloth backed pieces glued together. So I returned it. It was fun to do the research, though. I'm going to get a digital camera so I can upload pictures of my Gucci bag on another thread. Thanks so much, again!
