Hi Elli! Bella Bag in Malleries is shop.bella.bag on ebay.

Strange that they don't know Bella Bags.I didn't check other brand but all LV listings I checked in Portero have same photos as Bella Bag.
.....

Hi, I'm a bit confused by the names Bella Bag/Bella Bags. I sent a message to Malleries a week ago and they compared the Portero listing with their BellaBag listing. In the end they just said Portero sell their own bags (they have them physically) as well as outside consignment stores like Bella Bag.

Thanks for posting all of this - what in the world would we do without you here!!!!!????
Thanks so much for everything you do for us!

Aw. thank you for your kind words. :hugs: I cannot take credit for this, it's tPF team effort including yourself.

Bottom line is, please get items authenticated no matter who the reseller is.

Now I'm confused, Bella Bag in Malleries is shop.bella.bag on ebay, correct? (they have to be the same person as watermarks are similar not to mention Bella in both names)

And Portero consigns for Bella? If that's the case not sure why the rep denies any affiliation with Bella.

The only difference in the Portero pics was the lack of watermark (compared to Malleries and shopbellabag.com), they were identical otherwise. Here's the complete Malleries message:

Hello xxxxx,
Thank you for writing. Portero implies that the bags listed on their site
are in their possession. This is not the case. Portero allows sellers to
list on their website but under the Portero name. The site is made up of
many sellers.
I hope this helps

^^
So sellers just list their bag under the Portero name?? Including Bella Bag? Meaning sellers that may have a less than good reputation may be able to sell their fraudulent items under the Portero (which has a good reputation and even a link from Purseforum) and everyone is non the wiser???

I have to take my word back, not all LV listings looked like Bella Bag, I've clicked on a few more and they're different. Sorry about that, their site is taking me ages to load.

I didn't see where Portero stated items are in their possession but I just found out that Portero is actually a consignor http://www2.portero.com/how-to-sell like fashionphile but allows seller to use their own pics, I guess Bella Bag listed her stuff on their site.

These guys need to be more vigilant, all these fakes are not doing good for their reputation.

If you passed their test, you can list your own item. Check"how to sell" link I posted above.

I guess I have to take my word back too, I got the Malleries message 28 April and now when I reread it I had interpreted it wrongly about "items in their possession"..

He most definitely lied!

I just saw this on Portero, http://www.portero.com/index.php/catalog/product/view/id/219748/s/louis-vuitton-brown-leather-motard-biker-rare-limited-edition-runway-bag/?utm_source=2261907&utm_term=10706957

Look at the last sentence of the listing,

"This is an authentic LOUIS VUITTON Motard Biker Rare Limited Edition Runway Bag. Done in a stunning monogram stitched brown leather, this bag features gold hardware and accents, black leather trim, and two rolled handles. The interior is done in a coordinating black textile with leather trim and is separated into three sections. The middle section has a clasp closure for secure storage while the other two sections close with snaps. This bag is a rare find. Don't miss out on this amazing exclusive Bella Bag price!"

I think that it is horrible that they are not acknowledging their sellers.

I've duplicated my chat with "Phil" at Portero today - below:

Thank you for visiting Portero. Please wait for a Portero Live Chat Representative to assist you.

Hi! Welcome to Portero Live Chat, my name is Phil. I would be happy to assist you.

Your Issue ID for your Portero Chat is LTK529018638****.

Me: Are you aware that the Louis Vuitton LVOE Tote Bag you have listed is a counterfeit? It is the talk of a forum I'm on and people are wondering if other items you are selling are also counterfeit. I understand someone already emailed your company about this, so I'm concerned. I was interested in your _________ bag in black, but honestly, this has me very concerned.

Phil: Let me check this item . . .

Me: This is the first time I have heard about Portero selling counterfeits, but this is clearly not an authentic Louis Vuitton bag.

Phil: Thank you for pointing this out. I will have our Accessories director look into this for you.

Me: I wanted to alert you as this could affect your business really negatively.

Phil: Yes, we will address this item immediately.

Me: Thank you. It's most appreciated. And does make me feel better about future purchases. Youmay want to have someone address the emails sent to you a little quicker as someone is mentioning she's had no response whatsoever to letting the company know.

Phil: Yes, we will look into the email as well.

Me: Can you tellme if you are affiliated also with Bella Bags? There was some confusion because it looks as if the item is also listed on Ebay under Bella Bags.

Phil: No, we are not affiliated with Bella Bags.

Me: Your exact same bag with the same pictures and same date code is listed currently under ebay under Bella Bags.

Me: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Louis-Vuitt...WH_Handbags&hash=item27c68812e3#ht_2822wt_966

Phil: Thank you. We will look into this now.

Me: Thanks! Makes me feel so much better.

Phil: Thank you for your inquiry.

Phil: Have a good day.

Phil: Bye

Me: Bye

Mortifying that is it still on their site as sold.
Has anyone else had any luck contacting them??:confused1::shocked::help:

Okay - now I'm upset. When you click on the item now, it says: "This item was sold." If it was, that's utterly horrible! $1,300!

If it wasn't - and they can't just put "This item was removed," or take down the listing entirely," that is horrible as well. It's going to hurt them either way. If people click on it now and see that they sold a fake for $1,300 - which is how it looks, that's going to just hurt their business unbelievably! As it should. I don't think I'll be purchasing. Sad. I really wanted the other bag.

I don't know that anyone else has tried. I'll never buy from them again though now that their representative literally lied to me. I'm glad I printed my chat log. I still can't get past the Bella bag thing. Yuck. Now I think they have been turning a blind eye to counterfeits all along. Bella Bags is well known and not in a good way. They had to know. Then they literally lied about a relationship they were well aware of that was longstanding, and advertised, with Bella Bags, and listed the $1,300 fake as "sold."

I almost wish someone had bought that bag and then sued them, and also got state DAs and federal authorities involved. As a paralegal, and officer of the court, I truly would love to see them explaining the sale of counterfeits and fraud in a court of law. And ignorance, which it clearly was not, isn't a defense in any court in this country. I would love to see them prosecuted. It's a violation of both state and federal laws and rises to the level of felony. If I had the money, I'd watch for the next counterfeit, purchase, and go after them myself. On a civil level, they could look at treble damages. That doesn't even begin to touch criminal charges which could be levied, prosecution. Fines and possible jail time depending on the scope and level of criminal activity.

I wonder how many poor people have bought counterfeit bags , jewelry, watches, etc from them based on their reputation and have been swindled and don't know it. This is even worse than fashionphile, which is horrible enough. People buy extremely high dollar items from this company. I'm really really horrified. I wish there was a way to contact ALL past customers to get their Rolexes, handbags, jewelry , antique items, anything they've purchased and have them thoroughly authenticated for counterfeits. I don't even want to think what the scope of this may be. My heart literally aches for the people who may have been taken.

Portero is a selling emporium, just like Malleries. I think I've seen bags from AFF on Portero too.

Bella Bag(s) sells at their own website (www.shopbellabag.com, Malleries, Portero, and eBay. I don't know if they're on Bonanza.

I have personally seen quite a few fakes on their website and urge anyone I know to just stay away from them. Frankly, anyone that still uses the My Poupette logo is on my suspicious list. That organization's issues with taking money and not delivering on authentications or issuing blatantly incompetent proclamations is well publicized, here and elsewhere on the Internet.

Dear PurseForum Members,
Thank you for notifying us regarding this specific Louis Vuitton item. We have removed the listing while we investigate the situation.
If there is ever an issue with the authenticity of an item sold on our site, we will indeed refund the customer and attempt to find the authentic product they had originally planned on purchasing.

Portero does work with authentic third party vendors that we personally select through a careful due diligence process. If a customer finds the same item on another site for less, we will provide the customer with the safety of purchasing through our site and match the lower price of the item.
We will update everyone shortly regarding this item.

Sincerely,
Susan Engel, CEO, Portero Luxury
