I RAN here when I saw Polene dropped a new design! I haven't been very tempted by recent new items, but this is testing my no buy/low buy resolve! I'm not going to buy it because I still prefer the Polene bags I have to this, especially the Neuf, but it's nice to see a new design I actually appreciate.

I wonder how they made the bag. There's some interesting folds, especially at the bottom corners. It seems like you can see the inside lining poking through?

On Polene website it says "The "Mokki" model showcases the art of folding with its textured leather. The corners are cut to reveal smooth leather for a subtle interplay of textures..."

From the measurements the Mokki it looks like it could make a good work/need to carry quite a lot bag. I would be curious to know what fits. The measurements seem to suggest it would be a similar size to the un but the un looks bigger on the models. I can't decide if I prefer camel or ebony
Mokki is actually larger than I would have wished for. So for approx 10 minutes I was thinking I should wait and see if a mini Mokki later is introduced. But then I concluded I dare not risk missing out on the beautiful Ebony colour :P

Un is a more structured bag, while this looks like a a bit more flexible. I think this is one of Polene’s most beautiful bags. I love the folds, unique shape and the top handle looks very different from the typical rolled handles. It’s a smart-looking style. Too bad, I’m banned from buying more bags in 2024, can only admire your beauties from afar.

I'm also attempting a no buy for a while so not buying now but I might get this later. I really like the look of this it seems like the most user friendly larger bag for me. I'm glad they've come out with another bigger bag they've been focusing on smaller bags it seems

Oh wow. So grained leather on the outside, there's at least smooth leather inside the corners, and some sort of interior, most likely fabric? Sounds like a heavy bag. I'm not a huge fan of the corners, nor do I like how bulky it looks from the side. But the folds design is very interesting.

Looking at it again, it definitely feels like the grained leather is almost a loose outer shell, followed by a structured smooth leather inside. THEN there's a fabric interior. I wonder if dirt and dust can get in between the grained and smooth leather. Would it be hard to clean? How will wear and tear goes? (But also my Polene bags have been amazing when it comes to wear and tear for me.)

Had a look at the weights of different designs.

Mokki: 860 g/1.89 pounds
Un: 925 g/2 pounds
Cyme: 900 g/1.98 pounds

Neuf: 760 g/1.67 pounds
Huit: 640 g/1.41 pounds
Un Nano: 440 g/0.97 pounds
Dix: 386 g/0.85 pounds
Oh dear - I had not thought about the weight :hrmm:. Hmm...
Hopefully the wide shoulder strap will keep it comfy

It turns out (after quick round with luggage scales) that several of my comfy "broad strapped" bags in fact are heavier

I think it might be bothersome to put things in and out considering the smaller opening as compared to the base as it has a trapezoid shape.
Especially given it is a medium sized bag, I would expect to be able to put in larger things, but that might be limited by its opening.
