Look who came today! I pre-ordered it weeks ago and it finally came today.

It’s burgundy, but it’s so deep it’s almost purple. I had a discussion with some forum members a while back and they were thinking it’s oxblood, and the color is very much that shade. Of course when I showed the hubby, he said not another brown bag!? The bag doesn’t look brown to me, but I have been on a brown kick lately…

Very beautiful, congrats!!!

Love your collection!

The clasp on my Polène numero sept broke after only 4 uses. I got this bag in late December and the clasp came off for no reason and I am extremely disappointed considering how much this bag costs. Has anyone else had such an experience? Does Polène offer free repairs?

I contacted the customer support and they offered to repair it for free. I had a good experience with the customer service, they replied to me very quickly. I sent it to spain at their cost and got the bag back in 2 weeks.

Holy wow! Your collection is impressive. I think you've won the Polene thread with 8 Polene bags.
They are all stunning and the best colors too. Specially chalk, my absolute favorite. Congrats!
I'm debating on getting 2 more bags in chalk. A Dix and a Neuf Mini. How are you liking the Dix?
This is not an award I wanted to win, because it hurts my wallet haha!

Dix is not the armpit shoulder bag I was looking for but I got the Celine Ava for that. Dix is great as a long strap bag or crossbody bag. It feels very durable and holds plenty for me. I have no fear taking it anywhere.

You had me at Phoebe Philo... I had no idea she was coming out with her own line. That sounds like an impossible-to-resist collection.

In the intent to also achieve "purse peace" (love that concept, btw), I have selected a few bags I absolutely love and don't want to sell but must, because I tend to overdo it.
It's a pattern of mine. Sometimes I fall in love with a bag and become obsessed with the idea of having it, and then when I do, I realize it's not practical for me for a number of reasons. So I am hoping to become more conscientious as to what bags I pick, hoping I can master the art of "admiring a stunning bag from a distance" without necessarily having trying to own it myself and then losing so much money when I realize it isn't for me. :hrmm:
Sometimes you can only know if you buy it and try it, so its okay. Its all experiences.

Finally received my Numero Dix in black textured leather after a year of stalking this thread. This is the most expensive bag I’ve ever owned and it was a gift to myself for my birthday. It’s everything I imagined!

I did notice a few small scuff although not substantial enough to return! One thing which does stand out slightly is that a portion of the strap is slightly uncovered? Curious if anyone else has experienced this?

Considering I got this right before the price increase I’m apprehensive to make any returns or anything. But also slightly bothered as it stands out against the rest of the black strap?

Oh dear, what a pity.
It looks to me as if they simply missed a bit of black edge paint. Easily fixed if one has access to black edge paint for leather...

I would contact Polène ASAP (they are more service-minded the sooner you make a complaint after receiving a bag), sending last photo, and request they pay for return postage of this bag and send you a new bag free of charge.

If they do not regard this as a serious enough fault to replace your bag, they will always let you return the bag for a refund (if you have recently received the bag), but you will have to pay the postage yourself...

Might there be a leather artisan or a cobbler who uses edge paint near where you live? If so, they could probably fix it for you. One can also buy leather edge paint online, but it takes some practice to apply it nicely...

Best of luck, let us know how you get on

Thanks a lot for the advice!

For the first option if they do send me a new bag free of charge, do you know who’s responsible for duties/taxes? I paid $75 and would like to avoid repaying if possible.

Drafting an email but nervous that they’ll just ask that I return it considering the bag is more expensive now. If they do I’ll take your advice and look into a leather artisan near me.

As far as I know, Polène will request you return the defect bag before they send you a new one (if they do agree to send you a new bag free of charge). Polène will, if they approve a return, email you a prepaid shipping label for your parcel to be sent with (in my experience) DHL

The systems of import taxes /customs duties vary a lot from country to country.

Where I live, in Norway, I apply for a refund of paid import tax / customs duties (for goods returned) to either the courier or the "national department of import", depending on who billed me. No problem as long as I can prove the item has been returned.

If a replacement item is then sent me, I pay the import tax all over again.

I suggest you contact whoever billed you for the import taxes and ask their advice.

But the urgent issue is to contact Polène ;)
