It's hard to predict what might or might not be collectible from Polene. Right now they appear to be
a "hot brand" but it also appears that they are having fairly consistent quality control issues, which may
changes the picture for many & since there is also a price increase which may decrease the popularity
but who can predict what might happen down the handbag road
As pretty as these bags are & I have 2 Neufs that I adore, I wouldn't hold on to a bag
that I am not enjoying, but that's me.
The almond one can be worn spring/summer which is sooner than later but if the bag is not working
in your wardrobe, the question to ask is should I keep it for now & part with the Mini Un Nano in tan?
or hold on to for a few more months when spring rolls around & see if it will work then
So the question I would ask you, in spite of a bag being pretty , if you are not drawn to it,
does it make sense to tie up that money in a bag(s) when there are other bags that fit your needs?
You are absolutely right! Thank you. And this is exactly why I'm so torn.
As much as I think these bags are gorgeous and unique, I haven't really found a chance to wear them.
You make so much sense about the money being tied up.

The truth is, both these bags are stunning to look at. I melt at the Almond every time. It's one of the most beautiful bags I've ever seen, but neither of them are very practical. The Huit Mini is not an easy to maneuver bag. I had another one and I sold it because I found it to be uncomfortable, actually. But got it in the Fresh Almond because of the color.

But maybe selling them and getting back some of that $ to put into the bag I'm purchasing at the moment (A YSL Lou with outside pocket!) is the sensible thing to do. I need to start making better purchase decisions because I tend to be very impulsive and then end up not using the bags at all.

Thank you, darling. You've given me something to think about.

Many of us have a deep appreciation for bags that are beautiful but if they don't fit or work
in our lifestyle does it make sense to tie up that money when we can have a bag that will have a
better fit or use what we already have (shop in our own closet) & enjoy those new bag treasures we find
I thought long & hard about purchasing the CHALK in Neuf, for several reasons, the color, how it
would wear & when I would wear it. The CHALK works just as well for me now as it did when I
purchased it in late summer. I'm delighted to own it. I have looked at other brands that have
been discussed that are more moderately priced than my other designer bags, but everything about this
Polene bag hit all the boxes for me. I have the Taupe & Chalk & perhaps time to re-evaluate what
we need & what we want, IYKWIM..
Happy thinking!

I recently posted about returning my mini neuf because of peeling at the seam of the top handle. The bag has reached Polene on 4 Jan but they have yet to ship out my replacement still - it’s been nearly a week.
If it’s still not shipped by tomorrow (beyond a week), I might just say forget it and refund me. The annoying bit though is that I’ve already paid import taxes for the bag.

I too, think that after this mini neuf is settled, I will put a pause on Polene as well.
Ok the bag has just shipped. But it’s been awhile since I first ordered it so it feels like the “fire” has died down and I’m almost ambivalent about the bag by now… let’s see when she comes, will post pics!

I loooove the tissé bags. They're just so chic, I'm moving to London soon and they just give off the vibe I want to give there. Still debating a camel or écru Tonca for the warmer months. But after all the concerns about quality control, I'm not eager to buy one, though. I will only buy in-store and look at that bag from every angle. I'm also considering dropping a review of my sept, but if the quality has declined, I'm not sure how reliable it would be to let you all know how it's held up.
I'd love to read a review on your Sept :)

That’s a great point. There will always be bags that are beautiful but they won’t all necessarily fit our lifestyle.

The chalk is a brilliant color. I love my Nano in chalk. It is the more casual version of my vintage white (essentially the same color as chalk) Toy Loulou, and one of my most used bags.

I will think long and hard about rehoming the Polene bags I’m not using, and welcome other colors and styles that will definitely get more use.

Would Ebay still be the best place to list them? I’ve seen so many fakes on there lately… :hrmm:

Super bummed about the price increases, as I was thinking about getting the Dix. Going to have to try and make a decision soon now if I want to take advantage of free shipping.
So bummed! I know!
It changes the experience, entirely. I mean, that Dix at $500 just hurts.

And I mean, these Polene prices are now at least a third of the price of a premier designer bag, so we will surely think twice before making these purchases.

I personally though I would end up with many more Polene bags but with the new prices (and possibly, more increases in the future) I’m not so sure anymore.

Oh no, may i ask, what color is the mini neuf? I saw some of the color is out of stock.. i wonder if that is why they still did not ship your replacement? i wanted to get one in camel or chalk but camel is now sold out :(

Shocked about their huge price increase especially as their customer service is shocking and like myself has experienced, quality issues! It’s a shame as I loved this brand from their start but because their sudden surge in popularity through socials I feel they

i would get a refund, I received my mini neuf and had peeling on the corner of the bag and the bottom! Returned it and they send out another one and it had peeling on the handle! Just sent it back and got a refund as their quality has deteriorated lately as I’ve had other bags from them a couple of years ago and had no issues!
Oh no, what color of mini neuf did you order? :((
I have the mini neuf black and the quality is ok , i want to order another one in camel but it is now sold out. my next go to color is chalk. but i am worried after seeing few people having peeling problem on their mini neuf..

Found this comment very interesting:

"OP I don't know where you are based, but if you are based in any country in the EU, Polene is obbliged to take care of your handbag under the 2 years warranty they are obbliged to give. That means they have either to fix it, to pay for the bill for someone else fixing it, replace it by a new one, or to take it back and reimburse you. This is EU consumers law and, unluckily, in my case I am talking also by experience with Longchamp. Have you emailed them regarding this issue?"
Just to clarify:
"The legal guarantee covers any defects presumed to have existed at the time of delivery and which become apparent within a period of two years." https://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/consumers/shopping/guarantees-returns/faq/

So they are not obligated to repair just anything and everything under the EU customer law. Especially normal wear and tear and damage during use is not part of the guarantee. This is generally why they do not exchange a bag with minor damage at the corners after it's been used already. But if the leather peels way beyond normal wear and tear like in this example it is a defect which existed at the time of delivery and this definitely falls under the customer law imo.

It was the camel colour, it’s was so lovely but shocked that they sent it out like that the peeling was so obvious! It’s such a shame as their designs are lovely but lost confidence in buying with them again!

Oh no... what a bummer.
i really want this mini neuf in camel but i am worried after seeing few people have this peeling problem with their camel mini neuf.. i have the black mini neuf and it seems perfect..

I have the Neuf in taupe and there are two really tiny bits where it's peeling. Barely noticable because the color below is so similar to the taupe on top. The bag already came with these defects (I should have sent it back I know) and I've used the bag for over half a year now and it's really durable, there are no new areas which look worn and the existing ones didn't get bigger. This is so odd. I have the feeling they are sending out used bags... If I continue to buy from Polene it will be a style that's just come out or a bag that's on preorder to make sure I don't get any bags with signs of use. My 2 bags which I bought on preorder were in perfect condition.

I have this exact feeling too because the Un Mini I recently got and that was oos for the days before it is perfect: it has a strong leather scent and the stitchings are immaculately made, no wear to the corners too. What if they are receiving fakes or well used bags and the QC is lacking control over the returns?

OMG they might be receiving fakes, I have not thought of that!
