Oh no, I’m so nervous since I just placed order for some Neuf.

And I just saw some bags that were on pre order for Feb. 17th had changed to Feb. 24! Can anybody confirm if this means Polene pushes it back, or they had reached some quota on the Feb. 17th?
I think they might just have reached quota on the Feb 17th orders. I ordered the Cyme recently (to ship on January 20th) about a month ago and it has become available several times with a new, later shipment date. I wouldn't worry, it seems normal.

Peeling, Wear and Tear On Polene Bag

Would love to hear TPFers' thoughts. I thought this was just regular wear and tear? Especially on corners. I don't know a lot about leathers to be honest. I also feel like there might be a decrease in quality across many brands.
Found this comment very interesting:

"OP I don't know where you are based, but if you are based in any country in the EU, Polene is obbliged to take care of your handbag under the 2 years warranty they are obbliged to give. That means they have either to fix it, to pay for the bill for someone else fixing it, replace it by a new one, or to take it back and reimburse you. This is EU consumers law and, unluckily, in my case I am talking also by experience with Longchamp. Have you emailed them regarding this issue?"

I need help from my fellow Poleners.
Many of you have followed my Polene journey and I need some advice as to what to keep and what to maybe let go.
As much as I absolutely love and adore my Mini Huit in Fresh Almond, I have found that I have yet to wear it, since I got it a few months ago. It was such a lucky find, in a stunning, discontinued color but as much as I stare at it and drool over the color and design, I can't seem to pair with my outfits enough to actually wear it. :oh:

I don't know if I should maybe let it go and use the $ towards something I will actually use. And with the new pricing, I could try to get most of my money back since it's a sold out color (demand and supply).

Same thing goes for my Mini Un Nano in Tan. Stunning color but I find that I already have so many variations of nude-tan colors, that I end up using mostly my Neuf Mini in Camel, my YSLs in dark beige or taupe or Chloe in tan.

Should I let go of those 2 bags, or keep them because with the increasing demand, prices and popularity of Polene, I may so regret getting rid of them and they might become collector's items in the future?
It's not like I would be getting that much for them anyway, but they do add up if they will just sit in my closet. I paid almost $700 for both of these. Feedback much appreciated. Thank you, darlings.

I would keep the huit - it’s more of a spring/summer colour. But I’d let the un nano go since you have similar colours!

IMO sell them to fund for other designs/same designs in different color , not inclusive to Polene bags! I have sold my Un Nano higher than full price without issues because the demand is there.

OMG that’s like unacceptably bad?

I just ordered 6 Polene bags through a couple trusted personal shoppers (I am based in SEA). Sounds crazy I know, but I bought multiple Neuf in different shades and sizes since I couldn’t decide, other than an Umi and Un Nano, and I am confident I can sell them since the demand is so high here.

That Reddit post makes me so nervous…Should’ve trusted my gut :( The price increase seems so ridiculous and scammy now.

No more Polene, I guess.

Shocked about their huge price increase especially as their customer service is shocking and like myself has experienced, quality issues! It’s a shame as I loved this brand from their start but because their sudden surge in popularity through socials I feel they
I recently posted about returning my mini neuf because of peeling at the seam of the top handle. The bag has reached Polene on 4 Jan but they have yet to ship out my replacement still - it’s been nearly a week.
If it’s still not shipped by tomorrow (beyond a week), I might just say forget it and refund me. The annoying bit though is that I’ve already paid import taxes for the bag.

I too, think that after this mini neuf is settled, I will put a pause on Polene as well.
i would get a refund, I received my mini neuf and had peeling on the corner of the bag and the bottom! Returned it and they send out another one and it had peeling on the handle! Just sent it back and got a refund as their quality has deteriorated lately as I’ve had other bags from them a couple of years ago and had no issues!

I have pre-loved pieces (Polene and others) with regular wear and tear and not a single one looks like that. That is not normal and absolutely should not be happening with a bag that was used and stored in the manner the poster described.

Full-grain leather (which is what Polene says they use in some of their bags, not sure about this specific bag) isn’t supposed to peel on a piece this young (for lack of a better word). I may not be an expert but when I look at my other calfskin bags and how leather generally works, this is a red flag to me. This kind of peeling tells me that something is off in the manufacturing process. It could be a problem with how the leather is treated/painted, or (and I really hope this isn’t the case) being made from something other than full-grain leather, such as bonded leather.

It's hard to predict what might or might not be collectible from Polene. Right now they appear to be
a "hot brand" but it also appears that they are having fairly consistent quality control issues, which may
changes the picture for many & since there is also a price increase which may decrease the popularity
but who can predict what might happen down the handbag road
As pretty as these bags are & I have 2 Neufs that I adore, I wouldn't hold on to a bag
that I am not enjoying, but that's me.
The almond one can be worn spring/summer which is sooner than later but if the bag is not working
in your wardrobe, the question to ask is should I keep it for now & part with the Mini Un Nano in tan?
or hold on to for a few more months when spring rolls around & see if it will work then
So the question I would ask you, in spite of a bag being pretty , if you are not drawn to it,
does it make sense to tie up that money in a bag(s) when there are other bags that fit your needs?
