Pochette extender/key ring alternatives

How do you open the round part of the LV key ring extender? Should it just rotate or do I have to push down and turn or what? I am having the worst time opening the key holder part.

hi...i felt the same way about the extender, i thought it was a lot of $ for something so little and that could go towards a cles or something...but...i ended up getting the extender not too long ago and i love it soooo much..i don't regret it one bit...plus i know that i can always get the cles another time....good luck..not only does it make the strap longer, but it just looks better too..
