Please help with my new Chanel chain strap - is it faulty?

I am new to TPF and also Chanel! I just unboxed my Timeless Woc this evening and noticed this on my chain - is this where the chain was joined originally or is this indicative of repair/defect?

Hihi all the lovely members. It has been some time since I bought a Chanel CF and I just got this pink CF small (reseller) recently. Please advise if the leather strap or joint is still made in this way. TIA

yes, the straps are like that now. and they are glued and no longer sewn together. the quality's been deteriorating!

It’s sad how the prices keep increasing and at the same time the quality is getting worse and worse.
