Great idea! As someone who wears primarily ( really only) black, I've been toying with the idea of a "not black" bag. I can't thank OP enough for putting this out there- and for lolakitten for posting those enabling photos so quickly!

Seriously! I’m like 99.9% black closet

I “spiced up” my black Evie TPM (my daily bag) with a bright twilly which doubles to lengthen the strap a few inches. I still feel like black-bag-on-black-clothes isn’t ideal but the Evie with black/GWH is a gem and just so gorgeous I’m always happy to wear it!

I love black with gold or a true grey. Black with a bag with gold hardware is also lovely. I also dislike etoupe.

I am like you, mostly in dark outfits. A lot of people don’t like gold as a color, but I love it to provide contrasts to dark colors. They always look put together without trying to hard imho. Gold is such a classic to me, you will not regret getting one.

Hey all - looking to move outside my traditional black/gray bags to add a gold or other brown neutral (except I dislike etoupe) to my closet. However I mainly wear black tops/sweaters with jeans, black dresses and other predominantly black outfits. Can anyone here share photos of gold (or brown) bags with black outfits? So far I am having trouble finding photos and a little scared to take the gold plunge! Thanks in advance!

I also like grey or black bags but Etoupe doesn't suit me.

I agree, it doesn't have to be gold either (I prefer Gold with phw even though mine has ghw). Personally, I wear Gold Spring through to Autumn but then prefer darker neutrals or pops of colour.

Ebene and Chocolate look great too. I'm on my phone only atm but I wear black a lot too. Perhaps some others can show you some more browns.

I tend to live on the other end of the spectrum, wearing a lot of white and cream, but with black clothes I kind of dislike a black bag.

Thanks all! Ok so most of the gold bag photos are with larger bags (mainly B/K)... what’s the thought on a smaller gold bag? I’m thinking another Evie TPM (or maybe but less likely a Picotin 18 or Lindy 26/30).

For the Evie, do you guys think the canvas strap makes it less posh/good looking with black outfits? My meaning is do you all think gold bags with black clothes mainly look good when they’re statement and hand carried (and all leather)?

I love to wear bleu nuit with light purples such as lavender and light greens such as sage.
