one more question, please
If I add a polka dot pant, is it too much?
Or should I stay with the black pant only?
The occasion is an outdoor potluck party with someone I rarely know, but I do want to give them a good impression to remember me.:drinks::hugs:
Thanks again
I plan to wear this combo. Not too formal but not too casual. I may change my wallet to one of my K ( gold) or B( red)

I'd go with the polka dot! :) Since the colors are the same as the stripes it doesn't clash with the t-shirt. Plus plain black pants would be too formal for an outdoor potluck no?

I think your first outfit could have looked great with the scarf tied shorter and black shorts to tie in with the black bag and shoes.
Thank you, I will try like that :heart:

:biggrin:My DH decided to match me but I thought we were too black for summer so I changed my outfit for that event . I worn red and he worn black.

I've driven myself slightly mad thinking about this, I need some advice from ladies and gents who can can help me style myself for a Hawaiian themed engagement party Saturday around one of my H scarves. .I only have 2 days left.

* This party theme is slightly out my comfort zone. Coconut bras and grass skirts are off the menu.
* I am refusing to buy any new clothes, I have so much that I probably have something like you may suggest so be bold and suggest away. Sadly most of my florals are more Liberty tea dress rather than tropical sarong.

* DH is wearing a moderately loud pale-blue/blue/coral/khaki Hawaiian style shirt with mid-blue shorts (not short shorts) and plaited rope belt.
* It'll be pretty casual but that's not my usual style.
* It'll be 22 celsius max by day, there could be showers
* It's afternoon/evening but we're aiming for evening.
* It's very inclusive but the children will have left by the time we plan on arriving
* I will dance - a lot
* I will eating drink - a little

I want to build my outfit around either my coral Flamingo Party in coral/white/khaki or Au coeur de vie in Jaune Vif and brights.

Question 1. Which scarf (see above) says Hawaii more?

Q 2 Are there any Hawaiian theme/based films or TV shows I could steal the looks from? I would love it if these were from the 1930s or 40s so I could tie my scarves around my waist or use in my hair. ?

Q 3 How do I incorporate my scarves. See Q 2. ?

Due to the colorway, the Au coeur de la vie says Hawaii more to me.
I suggest a simple dress style in a solid color so the focus is on the scarf. Wear a flower in your hair.

Sorry I can’t help much, but Au coeur de vie in Jaune Vif and brights do sound nice and compliment the theme. :giggle:
Can’t wait to see the result. :drinks::hugs:
