when i saw it in the shops the omega seemed 30-31mm, similar to 31mm rolex but def smaller than midsize, it was quartz...i prefer quartz as its just less head ache when i switch and change diff watches...

in london, the blue and orange airking is roughly £2600, whereas the omega (in the pics)with only diamond markers is around £2200...

HI there,

I have been looking at Rolex/Omega myself. I think design wise I would go with Omega everytime and am 90% sure I am going to go the Omega route over Rolex myself.

Over the two pictures you have posted the Omega is beautiful! I don't think Rolex offer enough in terms of style/design for what you pay for at all...

Sorry meant to share a picture, sorry it's blurry, but you get the idea.

Since you have other watches, get the Rolex. You will not think of the Omega after getting the Rolex provided you don't mind winding it when you want to wear it.

The Aqua Terra is a nice watch but somehow I don't like how the casing sits on my wrist. It looks funny. Try both and if you can compare side by side before deciding. Don't forget to post your final decision. :D

I tried on both today . . . still confused, LOL!

Here's the ones I tried, sorry the Omega pic is so weak. I took this pic before I had a new iPhone. And the face is black pinstripe, not blue!
What I figured out is that I want if I go w/ Rolex it'll be the black face Oyster Perpetual DateJust w/ diamond markers and fluted bezel.
I also found that the Omega is the perfect size for me. The midsize Rolex is bigger than I am comfy w/ but the smaller size/ladies is smaller than the Omega.
The Omega is perfectly between . . . . decisions!!
Oh, also, he offered the Omega to me for about $5200 - that's about a $2k difference.
He was selling me harder on Rolex though. But I don't care about resale value. . . I don't buy watches to sell them :shrugs:

Swanky,

After going on about the style of Omega...I do really like the Rolex photos you have posted. They look understated and sleek. I think if you are going to wear the watch with your gorgeous tennis bracelet the any of the Rolex' you have posted will look stunning....

I want the black one but w/ a fluted bezel and diamond markers, retail is $7950.
The jeweler told the Omega is more of a "jewelry watch" because of all the bling. Tough because there's a $2200 difference and a lot less bling :-s
If I got the Omega w/o a diamond bezel and just the diamond markers = to the Rolex then there's closer to a $5,000 difference! :faint:
Here's the equivalent Omega version:

here's what I'm replacing:

Yes, ladies size for the Rolex, midsize was a little bigger than I like.
The Omega is a few mm bigger than the Rolex ladies but a mm smaller than Rolex's mid-size. It's a REALLY perfect size IMO.
