Hello everyone!

I’ve been wanting a Birkin 40/HAC 40 for a while but feel like they’re a bit too formal for regular use given my lifestyle.

I’ve just come across this bag and I think I’m a little bit in love.

Can anyone help ID this please? Is it the same wollycot material that’s used for the Kelly dépêches? I love the tri-colour band on it as well!
Hi! I believe this HAC is from the recent ‘Go Team’ collection. The leather details should be Noir Togo*, with body portions and gussets in Gris Moyen Feutre wool. I would presume the canvas sangles are in New Lime and Noir. Extremely rare. ;)

*Clearer pictures could help to confirm.

Can anyone help me identify the color of my bag? It's dated 1997. When I purchased it, they said it's box leather in the color Marron. I took it to the Hermes spa and they said the color is brique. I didn't think brique comes in tonal stitching. This is under warm light at home.

Appreciate your expertise!

P.S. running into issues attaching, it kept saying "oops! we ran into some issues". Will attach photos soon.

Hi! A picture will help, but “Marron” is not an Hermès colour. There is Marron Foncé, though! It also could be Étrusque.

Thank you for your response! I got these as screenshots off a random influencer who showed up on my explore page (the algorithm knows…)

Extremely rare doesn’t come as a surprise. It’s great to know that it’s part of the go team collection so that I know what to ask for. I thought it was a HAC with the same specification as this one below:

Very welcome! :flowers: While Woolycot and Feutre are both wool-based, Feutre is a felted wool while Woolycot is canvas made of wool (as opposed to traditional canvas materials like cotton, linen, hemp, etc.).

Here they are. Thanks!
If possible, could you try re-uploading these pictures in natural lighting; the lighting in these is quite dark, so I’m unable to make out certain details. A picture showing the lining and interior zipper pocket would also be very helpful.

Based on what I’m currently seeing, the bag cannot be Étrusque or Brique (technically called “Gold” during this era). Marron Foncé also seems highly unlikely. I would guess that this is a rare example of Havane Box Calf, but more pictures should help to confirm! :flowers:

Ah ok that’s great to know — do you know which one is more durable as if I get my hands on either of these pieces I intend to keep them for a lifetime.

It’s hard to say which is more durable, as both of these textiles are fairly new for Hermès. In general, wool is a very durable material. This coupled with the fact that Hermès pieces are made to last a lifetime, you shouldn’t have any problems as long as you’re properly storing* and taking care of each item. If you do run into issues down the line, sending the item to Hermès Spa will be the best way to ensure your item receives the best quality repair or cleaning to help extend its life.

*Proper storage = item is stored on its back, covered (preferably with its dust bag), in a cool, dry area. I also recommend storing these two specific items in proximity to cedar (cedar wardrobe, cedar balls, etc.) to help deter pests which may try to consume the wool.

This is under normal lighting. And I agree, I don't think this color is brique and might be havane after googling that color. It also has a reddish hue undertone in natural light that doesn't come across in pictures. The picture doesn't show the sheen. Thank you!

Thank you so much for all the insight, I’m off to Barcelona tomorrow and will have all my fingers and toes crossed that the stars align and the boutique has something like either of those to offer to me. I’ll have a fantastic set of care instructions ready to onboard as well!

Thank you for the extra pictures.:flowers: This is Havane Box Calf, in my opinion. Havane has slight red undertones in many of its leather offerings.;)
