Hi everyone! I thought this was barenia…it had a faint leather smell but it didn’t have a strong intoxicating leather smell I was expecting that I’ve read so much about it and wanted to tap into the wealth of knowledgeable Hermes TPFers! I wonder if it’s truly barenia or if the scent is faint because it’s a c in square/1999. Of course, I’m getting it authenticated by bbbb and am waiting on the results. I honestly am so excited, was hoping to get some sooner gratification if it’s barenia😬. Thank you in advance for your time and sharing your knowledge!!

Hi, this is indeed Barénia! It probably lacks the “Barénia” smell because it’s a 25 year old bag.

Haha when you put it that way, makes sense. Crazy to think 1999 was 25 years ago 🤦🏻‍♀️ Even though I won’t be able to enjoy the barenia smell I still love the patina and all the attributes of barenia! Thank you @r luvs h !! ❤️

I have the sellier cousin of your bag, I think one or two years „older“ which also only has a very faint Barenia-Smell to it. So, I would not worry about this, as @r luvs h points out.

I came across this Epsom Bolide 31 today. It’s a 2011 bag (O square), with the colour described as Bleu Lin. I was interested to see the contrasting stitch. Was this typical of Bleu Lin at that time?

Pretty! Yes, this Naturel stitching was typical for the time. Tonal stitching for Bleu Lin wasn’t introduced until around 2021.

Would anyone be able to date this bag from the Hermes Paris stamp & hardware? Unable to locate the blind stamp.
Found the Hermes through the ages thread and saw a comment about that stamp... "Hermès paris from 1945 to 1974." Would this be correct? Thankyou

Lovely bag! I assume you’ve checked the sangles already for production year information? The date range stated makes sense given the stamp, solid Brass hardware, and other aspects. More pictures would help provide a more accurate estimation.

Would you be able to post pictures of the full bag, the lining, and the interior zipper? That should help!
