Thank you, Ladies, for all your replies. This topic has sparked a lot of debate around here with no clear winner (although I think Yes has a slight lead) and we are keeping an eye on all the clever responses :lolots: I personally am leaning toward the idea that if you are wearing all black (including shoes), to throw a navy bag in the mix may look like you didn't have a black bag so you used your navy one. But then again, if it is a PATENT navy bag, well then that complicates everything and I think that would definitely be a Yes. Ohhh, but what about a really gorgeous navy glazed lamb...hmmm. Now I am on the fence too. :thinkin:

I'm not a big fan of an all black outfit with a navy bag, but there are certain shades of blue I can and do wear with black: bleu fonce ('06A), which is more of a grey blue, '10C bleu roi (a bright blue) and possibly my '07A navy patent Jumbo with silver h/w (haven't done it though). However, I would not reach for my '09A bleu fonce with gold h/w.

I have a few dresses that have white/black/blue/grey etc. and with that color palette, I probably wouldn't mind wearing a navy bag. I just think that there are other colors out there (red, purple, pink, silver, dark silver, gold, white, etc.) that, if I were wearing all black, I would choose over navy in a heartbeat. It doesn't mean it can't be done, but it just isn't my preference ( and certainly not while I have the aforementioned colors to choose from)! JMHO. :flowers:

I don't see an issue with it, but I don't think I would personally do it! I think it looks good one some...but I wear black all the time & usually either carry a black bag or a color than pops. If I were to carry navy, I would feel as though it appears like I just didn't have a black bag to match my outfit.

It's a Yes for me. Many colours can go with black and that includes navy in my view.

Why should I ALWAYS wear black dress paired with black bag with black shoes, with black headband...you get the drift??
I think I will look very depressed dressed head to toe in black.
I like to break the monotony of an ALL black outfit with some colours..whether a pop of colour (say red) or a subtle complimentary one like navy for instance.
