Even though I hate my second hole now I don't regret having it pierced! Although I tend to not regret my choices in life, just roll my eyes at myself.

So if you really want to do it, get them pierced! If you truly don't like it it's unlikely you'll be left with a hole after a short amount of time. I had mine in for close to 15 years hence my noticeable hole.

I just have single holes, but they have unfortunately stretched over the years so many days I don't wear earrings to give my poor holes a break. I've given up on them closing, I just can't completely leave earrings out for years and I really don't think they would close up anyway. So I wear earrings if I feel like it and don't worry about how they look when I don't wear earrings.

Luckiy mine closed up years ago .. I think ..I have never bothered to actually look:smile: long hair and fleshy earlobes lol
To the OP have a proper look at your own earlobes and make sure the look you are going for will work with your earlobes.
If the lobes tip up at all or the lobes are too big or too small then it will spoil the look.....perhaps take a picture of your ear and photoshop the design on to them to get the idea of the spacing...

Honestly, single holes look just fine - empty or filled. I often skip wearing earrings, and I like the look. The unfilled second holes situation is a whole different story though.

Oh yeah, I already did that. But yeah, I decided not to pierce my ears for now

I recently had my ears double pierced, because I was also loving the look of dainty little earrings stacked up the ear. I am absolutely in love with the look! If I take out the second piercing, I hardly notice the "unfilled" hole. It's not a problem or issue at all. EF Collection, Adina Reyter and Zoe Chicco are great "dainty" jewelry designers that have lots of inspiration on their websites/instagram.

I have four holes still open in my ears. I used to have fourteen holes in each. TBH, my holes are so tiny, you don’t even notice they’re there if I don’t wear earrings. It looks fine on other women too. Having said that, there are exceptions. If they’ve always worn heavy earrings and have a ‘slit’ instead of a hole, OR they’ve worn those awful ear expanders.

IME If you get your ears pierced in a piercing studio with a hollow needle, the holes won't show when you don't wear earrings.

The older I get, the more i love multiple piercings. I'm at an age where what other people think of me is none of my concern.

I have my ears double pierced, but I NEVER wear anything in the second hole... but this thread has me thinking about maybe going to a professional piercer and getting simple post earrings in the second hole (that won't come out unless unscrewed). Maybe just sterling silver tiny ball studs.
I also have my tragus and rook done but I always have jewelry in those:
th
(not my photo but I have a heart ring like this in my rook)
and in my tragus I have a tiny black onyx stud.

I remember in the 90's I purchased a pair of magnetic earrings for a friend's teen daughter who didn't even have single pierced ears (looked down upon for children in their socio/economic circle). The front of the earring and the backing attract each other magnetically with your ear in between.

I wonder if they are still in the marketplace.. maybe you could try them first and then decide.

ETA: I got my 2nd holes in the late 70's when I was a teenager and it was the beginning of the trend, and while I loved them and used them for years and years, I really no longer wear earrings in them, they've never closed and they do look odd unfilled.
