Hi everyone, my dream bag just arrived today (30cm for reference). I'd take pictures, but I think Peter did a great job on his IG page (it's the taupe bag with contrast white stitching). Echoing what others have shared, it's a beautifully constructed bag and the entire process was absolutely wonderful working with Peter!

On another note, has anyone who has the dream bag found a good bag insert for it? I'm a little cautious just kind of throwing things into it..
That's a great bag and congrats!

I'm just using my regular insert (Fourbi 20). I do "cinch" it up though b/c the bag wings are sorta open.

For those of you who have a Nitz Dream bag, could you give any feedback on how you feel about using it? Pros, cons etc?Thinking about a new "journey" in which I can pick my own specs but it's harder having never seen one IRL..I would be considering it in 25 cm size. Thanks!

Another question for those with the Dream bag: can the flaps be tucked into the bag at all? I really love the idea of the bag and it has so many advantages over the Birkin, but I worry they might bother me a bit. I saw others talk about how they might be able to be trimmed down, but I think I want to reserve the right to use them if needed (aka laptops and notebooks for work).

Not really, no. The bag is fairly rigid and the hardware for the strap is attached to the flaps.

FWIW I too thought that they would bug me and asked Peter if they could be made smaller (nope) - but I LOVE the bag and it works great.

That said I have the 30 when I typically carry a 35 as a day bag (Peter was correct in describing the "look" and capacity of the 30 as closer to a 35 K). I think a 35 Dream would feel huge to me. (But who knows maybe I'll get a 35 next!)

I've been using my Dream Bag quite a bit lately (anticipating putting her away until the fall once spring finally settles in). I am really happy with this bag and will very likely order another one before too long. My learnings over the last few months:
  • The bag is incredibly well made! It feels amazing in hand and is very comfortable to carry cross-body as well.
  • I am really glad I went with suede - it is so sumptuous and is really a chameleon. The terrazzo lining is fantastic as well - it feels like Swift but seems significantly hardier.
  • I was worried a bit about the “wings” being open but it has been a non-issue. Especially with the strap attached there really isn’t any risk of unauthorized access.
  • The flap helps stabilize the bag when it is closed so that the strap doesn’t pull the sides out of whack.
  • I like a big bag (my typical day bag is either a K35 or Bolide 35) so was a bit worried that I would find a 30 too small. Peter’s advice was spot-on - the 30 is perfectly proportioned and holds all of my stuff with extra room to spare. And it looks less bulky while worn cross-body.
I am so thrilled to have discovered Peter from you lovely TPFers! I recommend working with him without hesitation - this bag is fantastic and IMO an incredible value for custom work.

I decided to go bespoke with Peter. He is starting my Dream bag today. Here’s a pic. I am going with silver hardware.

OMG that is going to be stunning! I think you chose wisely with the SHW (I love the black too but with your color combo I think it would have been a tad distracting). What did you choose for the lining and strap?

Can't wait to see the finished bag! Peter is the best!!!!

The lining will match the deeper tones in the himalaya. I have not yet discussed the strap. I’m not sure what will be the options.
