Has the LV fragrances Apogee & matiere noire been discontinued? I look in the website once in a while for the travel refills and they never seem to be in stock.
Well, the full size bottles of Matiere Noire are available on the US and French websites (including the $16000 version of Matiere Noire), and full size bottles of Apogee are available on the French website. I'd guess that it's a stock issue. Plus, I doubt they'd be making and selling a $16000 bottle of Matiere Noire if it was a fragrance they were discontinuing.

Thanks. I’ll have to continually look on the site for the travel refills for apogee then!

I have bought a miss Dior blooming travel spray (a leather feeling one that looks like the colour of vachetta)that comes with a mirror in a gift box. Anyone know with this particular version how you refill it? It doesn’t pull out or the hole at the bottom looks too tiny to fit a perfume nozzle from the main bottle? A video o have found seems to show the removal of the canister part, but when i try it just spins around. I don’t want to do any damage to it. Thanks.

Random perfume chat. I got to try a few fragrances from Memo Paris.

@JenJBS I tried Sintra, thinking of you. It's supposed to be a neroli scent with a caramel/marshmallow base (as per the SA) so I thought it may be your kind of thing, but...it wasn't any of those things.
I can't describe it. It certainly wasn't neroli as I know it (no green, fresh, citrusy-floral, which is the way it usually smells to me).
Also, none of that soft sweetness that I thought you might like. It was a heavy perfume. Nice, I suppose but, I have no actual idea what I'm smelling. I think it actually had a pink bubblegum kind of smell, which is really not my vibe.

@chowlover2 I remember you said you went on a neroli fragrance binge. May I ask, did you happen to try Sintra, by any chance? I'd love to know what it smells like to someone else, as that always helps me figure out where I am on my anosmia recovery journey.

I also tried Marfa from them. It's my second time trying that one and I really like it. A bright, citrusy, green tuberose. It is the opposite of Sintra in that it is very airy/light. Much more to my taste.

No, have never tried either. You are sending me on the hunt again. My absolute fave is Neroli #18 from Carter & Jane, as well as Goutal Neroli and Nicolai Neroli. I tried a Guerlain which I thought I would love ( I love almost anything the house produces ) as well as a Givenchy. No to both.

You know what I tried that I absolutely loved? Arcana Craves Peach Craves Black Sand. I was just curious as to how such a name would smell. It's an oil and it lasts and I find it heavenly. You never know.

Glad it isn't just me! I bought a sample of Sintra, thinking I'd love it Nope! As you say, it didn't smell like neroli. Heavy is a good word to describe it, and marshmallow isn't a heavy scent.

Oops! Sorry to enable!

I have both Goutal and Parfums de Nicolai near me, so I'll have to test those soon. Thanks for all the recommendations, I'll see if I can find the others to sample, too.
(side note: I tried Nicolai fig but it didn't have any fig. Smelled like melons )

Ah, I didn't know you'd already sampled it! Very glad to hear we're smelling the same thing. It means my nose is behaving, lol!

I need to smell Marfa again. Both times I've sampled it in store, it has been alongside other fragrances. I want to sample it alone to be sure it's not muddled with anything but, for sure it is lighter than Sintra.

Thanks for introducing me to this! I've been looking at their offerings. Can you describe Peach craves black sand?
I get that they have themed scents (Peach, Marshamallow, Vanilla, etc) and they each crave other notes, but I find the marketing lingo difficult to decipher. It all paints a pretty visual picture but I can't tell what any of their scents would actually smell like! Probably a me-problem because I'm really not bright!

It’s very peachy. I’m not trying to be a smarts$$, but I don’t discern much else. There is more to it I am sure, but I don’t know what else. what does black sand smell like? Maybeit is my body chemistry, but it smells really good on me, I know I have a keeper when I can’t stop smelling my arm, and I am not into fruity fragrances except fig. I tried a sample from Surrender to Chance, and actually bought a small bottle from Arcana.

Hey, "very peachy" is better than what I got trying to figure it out on my own! I was thinking, "What does a peach rolled in sand smell like?"
Thanks so much for explaining. I'm not liking fruit scents much (strawberry is a big no), but find I like blackberry and fig notes on my skin. I will have to sample some of these at some point.
