What size do you think is nice for everyday pearl earrings? Mine are rather small and I want to get a larger size. I think my Tahitians are about 8 or 9mm, can I get South Sea pearl studs in that size? And what is the difference between South Sea pearls vs. other pearls?

Sorry if these questions are obvious!

I think it varies from person to person. Some like larger sizes, others smaller. There are smaller south sea pearl studs in 8 or 9mm.

South Sea pearls have a satin-y look / feel to them compared to say akoya pearls or FW pearls.

These are my recent pearls from Future Fashionista. One is a 37" strand of peacock baroque Tahitians with diamond clasp designed by Japster, and the other is a strand of 12.5-17.4mm teal blue Tahitians with diamond clasp and diamond rondels, handmade by Japster.

I am so sorry that my horrible photog skills don't do better justice to her outstanding work.

gga, I love both your strand but the one with diamond rondels is one of the most beautiful pearl colliers I have ever seen:love:. I love love love love love love love love teal blue Tahitian pearls!
