I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

Yes I totally agree. I wanted to buy jewelry, but SA didn’t ask about needs anything else and I forgot too. Next time, I will come alone and buy jewelry earlier than my appointment. How long does it take for making an leather appointment after buying bags?

If you enjoy the brand as a whole and that is what Hermes would like to see, then please consider many purchases in any of the other departments. Interest in only BKC is almost always doomed to failure at FSH. Just my sincere advice.

+1. It’s very clear that I am interested in other categories, and SAs definitely pick up on that since they don’t get any credit towards sales goals from B/K/C (or so I’ve been told). I only buy what I absolutely love, and I don’t really calculate ratios, but my orespend tends to be relatively high.

@bkcplease, I am new to the FSH experience, but I noticed today that the SA was having a hard time pulling up inventory updates electronically. She had to go down and physically search. (my home SA does that too). So, I could imagine that an SA could easily believe that there are none at the moment they check, IDK.

also, in my home store, an SA has to be approved by an SM to offer a B/K/C, and then the customer has to be approved. So, I’ve always understood that a bigger, better connected client may be offered something that I am not ‘qualified’ to receive. this is just my surmise, and if another TPFer has better intel, im sure they will chime in.

Why not just shop normally at your home store? It’s a much more reliable path to a quota bag if there are other items from the brand you love anyway.

@acrowcounted
In my state, there is only one hermes boutique and stock is seriously limited every visiting and SA recommended to buy furniture that I am not interested in.

I decided to make an relationship in a NYC store, there were so many stocks but I have become not sure about my SA.
How do you guys decide SA? I have usually met assigned SA and bought what I wanted.

Is it available to pick a SA before buying, not just assigned?

I understand @880 mentioned it.
It is too hard to meet a connected SA. Although I bought what I wanted through several SAs, I couldn’t build the credit well. I have got some hurt in hermes stores in relation to other high ended stores. That is why I prefer Paris kind a lottery system.

The beauty of Paris is that you can potentially win the lottery and get a quota bag without spending on anything else so if one happens to be on vacation in Paris anyway, it doesn’t hurt to give the system a try. However, if you intend to buy other big ticket items, your money is really best spent by shopping at your home store with one SA repeatedly and building up a profile. A decent profile at a NYC store will surely eventually result in a bag; it just takes patience.

Flying to Paris solely for a leather lottery appointment is setting yourself up for big disappointment and wasted money. The people in this thread who have dedicated Paris SAs but live in a different country generally a) spend a lotttt of money b) started their relationship many years ago before this current climate of Paris SAs not wanting new clients or c) are or know someone with connections/influencers.

In my opinion, this forum generally over romanticizes the idea of having an SA who is your soul mate and best friend. In the end it is a business relationship. You don’t have to feel sparks from the SA, just mutual courtesy and respect. As long as you visit regularly, shop decently, remain loyal, and aren’t a pain in the butt to work with, you will eventually be offered a quota bag.

I think this few sentences should be a sticky on the Maintaining a H relationship thread! ;)

I’m so impressed after reading your reply. I have seen very romantized things from my friends, too. I will not in hurry. You are right. I don’t need to be hurt from buisiness relationship.

I appreciate to your advice.

DH and I were fortunate to get an appt today. My NY SA was on the phone too (for moral support) bc I was nervous. I did ask for a shadow or cargo which they did not have for me. Nor did they have an ostrich B 25.

But I explained that I would like a dark neutral K/ B 25, leaning towards blue gray (not etain). I specifically mentioned some colors that I love like graphite, bleu abysse and bleu obscure. FSH SA picked this for me (she said) based on my style (I was dressed in dark neutrals).

Am thrilled with 25 Kelly sellier II, blue orage epsom, GHW. FSH SA said it’s sometimes hard for them to figure out what clients want, and they have to go on visual cues or hints like what the clients are wearing.

Although I am not typically a GHW person, DH, SA and I felt it was perfect for this bag. Everyone at FSH was very nice and welcoming, and I am going back tomorrow to look at some RTW (SA said she needed some time to source sizes) Good luck to everyone this week!
