I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

This may sound silly, but do you guys think that if you look really young you might not be taken seriously for a bag offer? I'm not yet 30, and I often get mistaken for being in my teens.

My opinion is that it might affect your chances if you do look like a teenager. Of course, if you are looking for a younger looking bag like a Lindy or Evelyn, there should not be any issues. But, if you are after a Birkin or Kelly, the SA might think it’s too mature a bag for you? Again, the emphasis is on the word might. They usually have a specific clientele in mind when they offer a B or K, and I don’t think it’s teenagers.

My advice would be to dress up nicer and more elegant so you don’t look like a teenager. I would suggest accessorize with Hermès scarf and/or accessories (if any) to show the SA you are a serious customer.

This is just my personal opinion; I don’t speak from experience. Good luck!

Though I have my own SA my dear fiancé decided to apply for appointment without my knowledge while we are in Paris to surprise me and try to score a small Kelly for me in a spec that i have always wanted on my wish list.

He applied for 5 days in a row and got accepted for appointment. due to strikes some deliveries were affected but he did got an offer!! B30 in the new red!! We had to turn it down however as it wasn’t the right colour and spec as I don’t need a birkin

But SA was very nice greeted him straight away and led us to a vip room, with drinks offered! Kinda like my usual SA would do.
My fiancé’s SA took her time to show us other things which we wanted to see and for info,
my fiancé had no purchase history in Paris.

Kind of off-topic. I will be in Paris around Dec 18th and was wondering if the strike will continue?
Sorry about the OT- Tuesday Dec 17 is the next HUGE strike day- probably will not resolve in the few days after that, but there may be some more trains etc running for the weekend- but I just read 3 papers so what so I know! Very disappointing- I had to cancel a stop in Paris ( would be there now )

Thank you for your response. I'm rather petite with a young face, but I do find myself dressing up more often than not. I'll take your suggestion of accessorizing with Hermès, that's a good idea. Wishing I'll be lucky. Thank you again!

There is a big strike today Dec 17. There are taxis available everywhere and it’s safe for walking, museums, shopping. Dec 17 museums are closed. No metro or very limited ..
major touristic streets have no impact and all stores are open and not crowded.

Hello ladies! i had success purchasing a B last time i was in paris, but ever since then they have implemented a new system. My question is - if you do get an appn for the leather dept, does it automatically mean they would sell you something or you still need to play the "purchase game" .... the reason i ask is because from my understanding you meet the SA in the leather dept ... but if i want to purchase other things they are technically in other departments correct? so what is the best way of going about this? I am dying dying dying for a B30 in tan or K32 in rouge or a kelly pochette in any color.
