Not necessarily. I was offered an SO out of the blue in Paris from an SA I had met that week. You never know!

Interesting! My expectations of H Paris is to be fortunate enough to draw a desirable bag out of their daily deliveries/stash. I had no idea an SO could be on offer. If you don't mind, could you say how the possibility of an SO came up in the dialogue with the SA?

Here's a ( probably foolish ) question, born of relative newbie ignorance- can I assume that placing an SO in Paris is analogous to placing one in the USA, in terms of having a "long standing" relationship with an SA? I have been very lucky and have purchased a number of Bs in Paris, but certainly cannot be called a VIP or anything like that. Especially as it's a bit more difficult to connect with a previous SA ( although I DO have everyone's cards and emails to "warn " them of my coming. Any tips? Thanks so much

Hi! I have a couple SA’s that I work with when I visit FSH. I’m by no stretch of the imagination a VIP . The one that offered me the SO was my original SA and who I actually hadn’t worked with in a couple years as she was on vacation both times I was in Paris. So, I ended up working with a different SA. He also had a bit more seniority than the other but she offered me the SO. So, I guess my point is you never know. The way my SA explained the SO offering is that they have the opportunity to offer them to their long standing and “good” clients. I should also add that I was told they offer SO’s when you request a bag they don’t have available and you are a long time customer of theirs. The funny thing is the year prior when I say my second SA he offered me a Kelly but said if I didn’t take it, he would offer me a SO. Hope this helps! Sorry if this is confusing!?

think u should just ask, sa wont know you are interested unless u let them know. I was in the same boat and was straightforward in asking, he brought out the box shortly after.

Agree! I tried 5 times fir me and DH last year and we both got on fifth try in a Sat and we were unable to get any bags at appointment- I really wanted a picotin or roulis. This year we both tried 5 times again and only DH got on 5th try. We both have purchase history there too.
Hope you at least enjoyed Paris!

Generally yes. The leather SAs would have direct access to the stock. Then there are senior SAs or Charge de Clientele who look after the VVVIPs and have access to leather and sell across departments. Some do not have to get approval from managers for bags. You could ask your jewellery SA to see what they can do for you.

Please share what you got! I actually wanted a retourne kelly but was offered a sellier. I took it since sellier is SO pretty. Figure I will learn to love and can not be too fussy at fsh.

Here’s what’s I got from FSH. I scored a bolide mou (is it what it’s called?) too but it’s still in its box. I’ve been using the Constance to death as it matches almost everything in my wardrobe.

The smell was so intoxicating when the barenia F came out of its dustbag
For some reason, my SA in my home country said that they don’t bring in neutrals for their store I have rejected many Constances from my home store in the past as I felt that neutral colors are best suited for C24s, and pops of color are suited for C18, so I was really over the moon when I saw the etoupe.

Wow! Beautiful bags and great neutrals! Please post your bolide too since I have no idea what you are referring to (is it like a Togo sellier bolide?). Did you buy everything at fsh with appointments?

I posted my story and bag a couple weeks back - bleu de nord 28 sellier k with ghw. Very excited to use it this summer since I wear a lot of colours that go with blue in the summer months.

Sure. We were talking about heritage leathers and he asked about my existing collection. I showed him a few of my vintage Kellys. He said "you won't find what you like in production" and offered me a special order. It was magical! Now, I don't think this is super common, and getting a back from stock is definitely an easier call, but there are quite a few people in this thread who have had a similar experience.
I don't like when anyone says it's impossible or defines VIP/VVVIP customer status by spend. It doesn't necessarily work that way and there are no absolutes.

That matches up with how I got my fauve barenia- we were chatting about my love and appreciation of heritage leathers ( after the SA said she really didn't have the bag/color/leather combo I was interested in) and then, voila!! she says, "let me see what may be there for you". So I am all about the "anything can always happen" concept! That WAS, as QF states, something from the back and not an SO, but good enough for me.
But the concept of an SO being even just a possibility is just awesome- thanks so much!

My bolide is the squishy type, known as the bolide mou. They are usually available in clemence (I think) - mine is a swift. I wanted the structured bolide rigide but was told there was none so I got this:

I really like structured bags so the next quest would be for a Kelly sellier and bolide rigide

Was in Paris the past week and my husband and I tried to get appts over 4 days, with no luck. I wanted to check out the H store anyways, especially since we were staying almost next door at the Ritz. I saw several things I wanted that weren’t available in Canada, and while speaking with the SA, I casually mentioned being unlucky to get an appt and she helped me get an appt with leather goods! I saw at least a dozen come in during that time requesting appts and being turned away, so it’s all about luck and meeting an SA who is willing to help. I was offered a C24 in Bordeaux!!!! Constances are so much harder to get in Canada, so was very happy with this purchase.

We left our passport at our hotel, so had to come back again the next day to get our tax forms. Once again, I was just casually chatting with a few SAs as they recognized us from the day before. Requested an appt if there were any cancellations and again, I got lucky. I asked for a B or K in gold or GA. Unfortunately neither were available, but was offered a K32 Sellier in grape and a K32 retourne in chocolate. The deep purple sellier was gorgeous, but I don’t wear purple. So I took home the K32 chocolate!

My SA also brought a bunch of other things to the room for me. One of which was a mini Bearn in Box (!!!) in Rouge H. LOVED that wallet so much, so got that too!

Overall a very successful trip for me. Even though I didn’t quite get what has been on my wishlist for a while.
