Congrats! Looks like we were offered bag on the same day and around the same time[emoji38] And I got the same rodeo as well!

We have global entry and when we passed the customs, the person there didn't even collect my declaration form, he just collected the digital form printed by those global entry machines and then waved us through[emoji4]
Congrats on your bag!! That is so cool we got the same Rodeo. We did the electronic form too but when the custom person asked us about goods bought, we told him and he input a notation on our electronic forms. It was when we were about to exit custom, they saw the note and sent us to the agents that does the calculations. Luckily I paid attention even after the 24-hour travel, I had to correct him on the calculation too! It was a damper but we didn't want to get in trouble, plus the euro is much lower than when we went in Feb so made it okay.

Part ll...

11/19/16 (Sat) – I knew this day would be our last attempt because Sundays are closed, my hubby had enough of this waiting/chase game, and Monday was our last full day to enjoy Paris as we are leaving early Tuesday. My DH and I agreed to get in line earlier hoping to get help right away and hopefully to request our SA with better stock. DH was sweet enough to line up for me by 8:30am while I get ready. He was 5th one in line at the side door because again the front door has slightly more people. By 10:30am, couple more people joined the line in front of us. They let in about 5 people at a time and then it was our turn to enter. Right before we were about to enter, a group of older women walked up and pretending to ask the security at the door a question, I believe one or two of the group were trying to squeeze through but I quickly saw what they were trying to do and managed to get through the door before they successfully pushed themselves in. Same routine, this time the line for appt was half shorter but still about 10-15 people in front of me. We got the appt time of noon and we requested our SA from the day before. The appt rep called my SA on their phone and said we were there to see him. The rep told us to wait as he was helping another customer (it was unclear to wait for my SA or the appt time). We stayed inside the store in case our SA was able to see us sooner. He finally came down around 11:50am and brought us upstairs. We sat us at one of the more public tables, he offered us drinks, small talked and asked to remind him my wishist. He took off and came back about 15 mins or so, he asked us to follow him to the room he took us in yesterday and said he had pulled all the tricks like a joker to find us this. I was hopeful but still unsure what to expect…upon entering the room I saw one regular sized box, a small box, with a smaller rectangular box, and some wallets. He said it was really hard and this was the only bag that was available. He presented a B25, Capucine (blood orange – red orange), Swift, GHW. Before my trip I told myself if it is not the spec on my wishlist then forget it because it was THE HG bag and even it is substantially cheaper in Europe it was still a lot of $ to be spent. My initial reaction was a bit of disappointment because once again the only thing on my criteria was the GHW, red and orange colors were not on my radar. However, DH seemed to like the color a lot and said it was really pretty on me. I then think of my colorful wardrobe that I could still somehow make this color work for me. Also, if color doesn’t match to just rock it anyways because it is a pretty color for all seasons. I am still unsure of the swift leather but I know this was the only time I would be offered a B. It is also unlikely we’ll be in Paris again soon.

The SA then showed me a Rodeo PM in Rose Azalee which was in the smaller rectangular box and told me it was the last Rodeo he has. He said the store only get a few a week and was able to grab it for me. He placed it on the B for me to look at. It was such a strange thing, but I’ve always love the Rodeo, when he placed it on the bag, it was a game changer for me. Does that happen to you? Anyways, I started to embracing the idea of having this color bag as my HG and told my SA I would take the B25 and Rodeo. I declined the Furbi liner bag and the wallets. I tried to ask for the other bag charms and twillies but didn’t find any suitable for the bag. I later found a pair of twillies at the Hermes George V store to match my bag.

I feel very fortunate to be offered three bags, especially after reading a lot of you didn’t get offered anything that same weekend I was there. What do you think about my decision? Do you think I made the right choice re the color/size/leather type as The HG Bag? Capucine def pictured more red but it is more orange in person, especially in natural lighting.

Btw, I declared the purchases at custom upon returning to US through Atlanta airport and had paid $337 USD custom duty fee for the bag.
Such a happy, cheerful colour. You'll smile every time you wear the bag. Congratulations!

I’ve been reading this thread for a very long time and I must say it is very helpful and hopeful for me to score the HG bag in Paris, especially leading up to our wedding anniversary Europe trip mid-Nov. We just got back from our trip and would like to report the information that was important and hopeful for me. I’m sorry for the detailed lengthy story but I found the detailed stories quite useful and interesting.

We had made small purchases this past Feb at FSH for a bracelet and perfume. All the times we went below, my DH and I dressed well. I wore my seasonal Chanel bags during all the visits below.

11/17/16 (Thurs.) - We arrived at our hotel in Paris at 4pm and since this was our third trip to Paris within the last 2 years, we didn’t feel the need to explore the city right away and decided to try our luck at FSH. We arrived at 5:30pm and approached a lady standing around the entrance and asked for an appointment. She said no more appointment for the day and try tomorrow.

11/18/16 (Fri) – We arrived at FSH at 9:25amand there was already a long line of 20+ people in the front entrance. The side door was a bit shorter around 15+ so we lined up there. When it was 10:30am, it seemed like they opened both doors at the same time, however, they would only let in about 5 people at a time (at least the line I was in – side door). So there was a wait just to get inside the store which took about another 15 minutes until it was our turn to get through the door. Once inside, there was a line that was wrapped all the way around from the center of 1st floor (leather dept) to the other side of the store near the front entrance. It seemed like they were letting more people in the front door because the line for appt was more than double the amount of people that was originally lined up ahead of us outside. It took another 15-20 mins until we got to make an appointment. We were asked to show my passport right away and got an appt time of 4pm. Luckily I didn’t cancel my lunch reservation so DH and I were able to enjoy a long lunch and started to head back toward FSH, 5mins away from our hotel. Time kept changing from 4pm, 4:10pm, 4:25pm, 4:10pm, 4:00pm etc. We didn’t want to chance it and so we got back to FSH at 3:50pm and then time changed to 4:45, 4:55, 5:00, 5:10, 5:00 etc. DH was not happy at this point because he felt like we were waiting around all day for this appointment. But he still patiently waited for our appointment, which I think it ended to be around 5:00-5:10pm. Our notification told us to go 2nd floor to meet our SA. Our SA was very pleasant and he led us to the one of the two tables in the back and made small talks. He then asked us what we are looking for and DH told him it was our anniversary and he want to get me THE bag to mark the occasion. We told him the preference of B30, if nothing else in B30, B25, in spring color blue/green (blue atoll, blue glacier), pinks (rose lipstick, rose azalee etc), and neutral color, Epsom leather, and GHW. He asked if we wanted to see anything else and we said no since B is my dream bag. He offered us drinks then took off. He didn’t asked us for passport as the other posts indicated, maybe it’s because the passport info was noted while making the appt earlier. While waiting we saw most people who were waiting were led to a private room with orange boxes, and one man at a table was shown two Kellys 25, one black and one brown. It must have been about 20 minutes then he came back and ask us to follow him, he said he found something “special” for me. He led us up into one of the private rooms on the third floor. There I saw a big box and a small box, with other wallets and twillies. I was really excited and nervous at the same time.

He presented a B35 in a dark blue color (he didn’t say the name, but I’m thinking its blue nuit) with Indigo color piping around the edges. My heart sunk because it was none of the criteria on my list. In fact, I’m not a fan of dark colors and B35 is huge on my petite frame. He said it was a really special piece and it was one of the two B bags he has left for the day. He said the other one was a B35 brick burnt orange color starts with a C which I don’t know the spelling. I tried the blue B35 couple times and I kindly declined even though I felt bad rejecting it as I know I’m pretty lucky to be shown a bag. Also, I felt he was genuine and tried his best to find me something. He then offered to get the brick burnt orange for us to look at. We said sure why not take a look even though I knew down inside I wouldn’t like the color. He brought it to us and sure enough we declined it as well since it wasn’t anything close to what we are looking for. He said he was sorry and maybe we could check back tomorrow. We asked if we could request him and he said sure, he may be able to see us in between his appointments.

Part ll continues...

Omg bleu nuit! My wish list!

After a 12 hour flight with a toddler, my brain was totally not functioning. We were the only family there when playing with the global entry machines. The officer was super nice (and looked like he was desperate for some work to do), he walked up to us and helped us with all the procedures, scanning passports, fingers (he asked me to rub my fingers on my forehead coz my skin was too dry after long flight) and waited for the digital forms came out... then showed us our way out. LOL it just didn't feel like the same US customs that we used to experience.

Yea we both got a good deal! I just checked the credit card bills and the rate was only like 1 euro to 1.06 usd. My husband bought a watch in Italy few days earlier and it was 1 euro to 1.085. The euro just went down further the day before we got our bag.

Thank you for your detailed story. I am sorry that none of the bags shown to you match your critieria but glad you pulled the trigger finally on the B25. The rodeo is also a bonus too as it is so hard to get rodeos nowadays. Congratulations. May I ask how much you declared at the custom? Just trying to figure out how many % is the US custom fee.

Thanks everyone!

For those going the line definitely moved faster for appointments if you lined in front entrance. I think it helps to be specific as it seems they find it easier to look for a specific bag than to be your stylist so to say and recommend stuff.

I scored a B30 Gris mouette ghw in Togo.
Hi koeeeee,
Congratulations on scoring the B30 especially since it is from the mothership too.

How do you like the Gris Mouette color? I am curious about this color and thinking if I should ask SA for this color or keep to the basic black/etoupe/etain instead.

Was this the only color offered to you when you were there or you had a few choices before deciding on this color?

Congratulations on your beautiful bag! I think swift is a lovely leather on small and smooshy bags. And capucine is gorgeous! It may not be blue or green but hey, H colors are all so done beautifully and I'm sure you'll grow to love it more when you use it.

Thank you so much! It was that or nothing.

It is quite a bit of math. From what the custom officer explained, you take the items spent in euros and convert to usd based the exchange rate. Take that amount and deduct the exemption amount ($1,600 for the both of us, $800 if you are solo, and I believe there is another amount if you are a couple with children). Take that number and minus the first one thousand $, you pay 3% ($30) on that. Then the remaining balance, he said you pay tax on only 87% of that amount. Then for leather goods, the tax is 9%. He only counted my bag though.
