Paris Summer Sale 2011!

Thank you for inputs!

I am French and I would not miss an Hermes sale even if there was only one pochette left that I might like. Saying that my best friend and I are planning on going very very early the first morning--hope one of us to be in line by 7AM!

And fansynancy---arrive as early as possible. I have no idea what is left by third day or if this year they replenish stocks every day, sorry. And now for an insight into French women----during the soldes (sales), we tend to shop handbags first and shoes, second. So because of my culture/background/nationality/way my mother taught me how to shop, I am maybe not the right person to ask. But given choice between Eiffel Tower line and Hermes line, I would stand in Hermes.:D

RTW means "ready-to-wear" apparel as opposed to coutoure.
Enjoy

And does anyone know what the dates are for LONDON Hermes sale this spring 2011? Merci beaucoup.

Thank you so much, everyone, for the great information. I remember reading elsewhere that one should wear no H to the sales. Does this mean I cannot even have SLG's (small leather goods) in my (non-H for the day) purse? Thank goodness my Goyard St. Louis folds up!

I know I answered this earlier. I do not try to look chic, elegant or as if I can afford Hermes with my spare change. This year Hermes sale is also the week of the grand soldes of spring summer 2011 for Paris. And you usually can tell us frequent shoppers: no jewellry, ballet shoes; no scarf; hair in chignon; light lipstick if at all; water bottle and belt bag/fanny pack or that simple and fast shift dress with pockets that button/zip or somehow close. I do tend to wear what I think Americans call peds so that I can properly try on shoes. Basically I do not want to impede my shopping with being my usual self in a shop til you drop situation---be it Hermes, Goyard, Bon Marche and any of the hundreds of boutiques during the soldes. But this is up to you!

You can wear Hermes, they write down the items you carry/wear, just remember to mention everything.

Tickets in hand and ready for the death-defying experience, yet one more time.

For those of you asking about birkins and kellys...they were sold at the sales about ten years ago, but policies seemed to have changed and they have not been sold sincce then. The occasional discontinued bag can pop up, as well as fabric or fabric-leather totes. Last January the pickings were slim and there was very little even in this category.

I am with our French friend here.....flat shoes, and a very simple top in a solid color. If I am going to try on scarves or shawls, I do not want to be distracted by a fussy, complicated top. I do not mess with the water bottle, though, since they always have a water cooler with paper cups. The water is tepid, but it is water nonetheless.

On later days I might wear an H bracelet or something. I simply refrain from anything H on day one because I do not want to get slowed down filling out the required piece of paper.

It is, despite the occasional drama, always great fun. No great plans for big spending this year but I am sure I will find something fun.

Hi all, I'm new.

Can somebody tell about birkin at xxx itss original or imitation. Thinking to purchase from this web site if the price is reasonable.

thank you

I really do not understand how items are posted in strings so my apologies. However, I know I posted my query about London before the sale.

But as long as we are talking about London Hermes----how was the sale? Lots of choices? No choices? really only shoes and RTW? Any scarves?

I decided not to bother going and to save my energy for Hermes Paris sale this week because I know Paris always has scarves, shawls, and small leather goods, even though I also know that I have not seen a handbag at Port Maillot in about 8 to 10 Years.

See you on Wednesday morning---I'll be the one in black or beige with flatties, hair pulled back, no makeup, and no Hermes products---probably some tacky fanny bag and cup of strong French espresso and a croissant---looking exhausted from the big party I am invited to the night before!

Bon chance---good luck to all the sale goers!

hi expertess, i just joined tpf a few days ago and read your post, so i responded even though the sale had already happened. i didn't go to the sale because i wasn't interested in the rtw, shoes and scarves. i was told by my trusted SA that the classic H items will not be in the sale, such as the bags and leather bracelets. maybe someone who went could enlightened us as to what else they have in the sale.

WELCOME! No worries and I do know that there were no scarves. So I am looking forward to Paris.

Maybe I am too Zen, but a sale is a sale and I buy what appeals to me or what I think is missing in my wardrobe----I wear everything! Nothing is saved for "more important function or date or rdv". So I honestly do not know nor care what year scarves or shawls are on sale! I am more likely to note the designer's name than the first time it was sold in a Hermes boutique. This time I am looking for grey ground silk and fawn or any colour cashmere that appeals to me. The grey scarf seems to have gone astray in a hotel or a restaurant. But this is me and I am Madame Classic.

Bon chance

im a newbie too, and im in paris atm! theres really only one thing i want from hermes at the moment and that is a kelly double tour bracelet. do you think these will be on sale? if so will i have to be the first in line to get one?
