my bestie had that silver one with the lobster claw.
her boyfriend gave it to her for her 16th birthday last year with the gold love bouquet and the silver angel.
she filled it up about 14 charms and one day while she was out she came back home it wasnt on her wrist.
so over a thousand dollars, including that love bouquet was lost. she never found it after that but she thinks the claw was too weak for the bracelet to hold.
the clasp really does provide more protection that the lobster claw and my friend isnt the only one who has told me that.
when i went to buy mine they recomended a clasp lock and all the workers there had clasps too. come to think of it, i never saw someones bracelet that had the claw.
its pretty weak and could easily become loose or snap. especially if your going to fill it up.
my friend didnt have the safety chain which would help you out but i still wouldnt risk it since it could easily catch on something.

Thank you for the info, that just made the decision for me, another clasp bracelet it is then :D And seeing as my leather one sold on eB*ay, i can justify getting another!! Yay!
I can't imagine how completely and utterly devastated i'd be if i ever lost any of mine, apart from a couple of beads, none are particularly sentimental, but still, the money, the time, the love i've put into them...safety chains are a must!!

Oh, and on the subject, you'll have to let us know if anyone claims the HCA bead!

Good for you...that's your good deed for the week!

The gold strawberry's being retired??! Mind you, it's usually different in the UK, we don't seem to have quite so many retirements. Or maybe ours just happens later. I heard the swan/ugly duckling is due to be retired, so i got her while it's still at the usual price. Same with the rhino, and i'm keeping my fingers crossed for the dice for Christmas! :tender:

thats a good idea.
i can just say found pandora charm.
im not even sure if the person notices the missing charm and im suprised if a charm fell off that the whole bracelet didnt.
well if theyre anything like me then they would notice one of their charms was missing :p

That's crazy how you found the HCA bead like that! Hopefully the owner will contact you. I obsessed about this bead when I first saw it and got real discouraged when I saw it for $1K on some site. Got it on eBay for a decent price. It's so fitting for a Pandora bracelet - Danish design, HCA who is the author of fairy tales I grew up on....Next, Pandora needs to do a Little Mermaid bead!

My brother and mom just asked me to design a bracelet for my future sister-in-law. I am not supposed to build the whole bracelet, just some beads that I think she will like. I have a $500 budget. This is almost better than choosing beads for myself! Lol

isnt it great when you get to buy pandora for others? lol
i wish more of my friends had bracelets so i wouldnt feel the need to buy them all one. it would be so easy when holidays and birthdays come up :D
i know youre going to have tons of fun with this :smile1:

i ordered the retired Chinese or Janpanse (dont remember what it is :p) symbol bead from an online website so hopefully i will be getting it in the mail tomorrow.
i got the one for eternity and only for $35
i made sure theyre authentic pandora sellers so im very excited. :D

No, not at all, but i did only have it for about three weeks! It was quite a hard, shiny type of leather (not the best description I know!), so i cant imagine that it would get dirty. It was lovely, just not for me!

Maria, Did you find your leather bracelet got dirty at all? I am tossing up between the pearl/white and the grey.

Those are retired over here too now, but you can still pick them up online for the regular prices. Same with the zodiac beads. I don't think the stores sell them, but it's still pretty easy to get hold of them so far.
It's my day off work today, just got a call from one of my members of staff saying that I have a package waiting there for me...how annoying, i know its my new beads (teapot, ugly duckling/swan, two amethyst cz spacers), and i cant get them till tomorrow!! Aaargh!! :pout:

it is a good price. I've seen it go for a lot more on ebay and some not so nice retailers who boost the price. I got mine last year for around $175 from a local place that actually DISCOUNTS retired beads. I was thrilled. It's my first gold bead. the SS strawberry was my first retired

I chose the beads for my SIL's bracelet! I am so excited for her to get her gift on Christmas. Here is the list of the beads that I got:
*2 Tendrils clips with champagne CZ (very neutral, right?)
*Web
*Tree of Life
*Black Mother of Pearl heart
*two-tone love bouquet (my brother wanted something love-y)
*Rose bouquet swirl bead
*2 gold flower spacers

And I am $10 under budget! There should be a bead for an expert bead picker-outer!

OMG...just been looking at retired beads on eB*y, there's a gold strawberry there for $799, so yes Miss Chrisi $210 sounds good!!
I found loads that I didn't realise were retired (or just haven't been retired in the UK yet), the church, the ghost, the fish, elephant...I'm thinking about getting the ones i don't already have while they're still at normal price, just incase i decide i really want them later, and have to pay silly money for them!

Wow, sounds utterly beautiful, your sis-in-law is lucky to have such an expert in the family with such good taste! :D And i think you should have that extra $10 to put towards your next bead!
I adore the black MOP heart, wish someone would buy it for me!! (Serious hints, incase anyone's reading this! lol)
