Hi,
Can anyone recommend a good source for retired Pandora beads? I have to admit, I'm not a huge fan of ebay and getitng outbid at the last second. I'm specifically looking for the Chinese symbol "Xi" /happiness. My daughter, adopted from China, had Xi as part of her orphanage name. I started into the whole European bead bracelets because I wanted to do a mother/daughter tradition on the day we became a family. So each "familversary" we add a charm. I'd love to get 2 of the Xi's/Happiness beads (one for each of our bracelets). Thanks in advance for any help.

Hey MissyMom, right this moment on ebay, there are 2 happiness beads, both are Buy It Now and one is accepting best offers! In fact, I would make an offer on the other one, too - since it's post-xmas, some sellers might be happy to get rid of stock, and you never know - you can just send them a msg thru ebay.

My DH really treated me this xmas - four new beads! I will post a pic as soon as I rearrange my bracelet - which is so full, I'm considering a second one!

Melissa, I was in a shop only yesterday and they had a heap of discontinued beads. I will have a look for you I would be happy to get them for you and post them to you. What a lovely idea!

May I ask how old is your daughter?

My darling step daugther is six and she has a Pandora 17cm which is full and it fits her perfectly. I was going to keep it for when she was older but it fits her now. Her wrists are bigger than mine already (mine only 14).

A family member told me on Christmas day that it was to expensive for such a little girl. Mmmm :cursing: I would prefer to buy these than horrible beany kids or something!

She loves her bracelet and got 6 new beads for Christmas and I gave her the two tone safety chain that I ordered for myself as it is worth a lot now and I would hate her to loose it.

I got 4 new beads, 2 clips and my necklace. Will post piccy's when I can get them off the damn camera... I am a techotard.

Hi! Totally new to pandora...MIL got me one for Christmas...I've seen them at work and never really thought about getting one and now...well let's just say I already won 2 ebay auctions, read this entire forum, checked out all of the bracelets on Charmqueen (I think that's her/your name...the girl with the fab pink bracelet at the end of her posts) and gone to the mall to buy three more charms...barely 48 hours later...ummm...I think I may be a little concerned for my smokin hot credit card! Anyways, I got the clear cz swirls, the orange fish eyes and the coffee cup tonight...started with angel, dog, lock and key, 2 starburst clips and 2 blue cz spacers...ordered some purple and brown glass beads on ebay and even though they don't match I'm hoping I can do something with the whole mess...totally impulsove..I need to sit and think about what I want this bracelet to look like...everyone on here seems to have a plan..

My big question is, on ebay, there is one seller that has litttle purple oval in the bottom corner, called CLIM....does anyone know anything about these beads?? They are so inexpensive so I don't think they could possibly be good quality but I wondering if they would work to hold me over...or should I just save my money and buy a real bead?? Any advice?

Hi and welcome to the obsession! My taste is all Pandora, I don't mix other brands - but it's totally up to you. The quality and look of Pandora is so recognizable, it's nice to have all your beads be the same quality. Plus, the resale of other brands probably doesn't come to close to Pandora. I was able to get about 90% value for Pandora beads I sold on ebay as my taste changed and I found other beads I wanted (for example, I sold silver clips to get silver/gold clips).

Okay...as mentioned earlier...this all started two days ago and I can't stop...last night I bought the fish eyes and the coffee cup...decided I didn't like the coffee/tea cup (it just doesn't look like much when it turns on the bracelet)...so DH is off to return those two...just found an ebay store...seller allbeads88, store:everything beads...has anyone purchased from them...they have a large inventory of discounted pandora beads (hoping they are the real thing) I just picked up the daisy safety chain for 29 bucks and the snowflake for 37, free shipping no tax, just saved myself about $15....will let you know how if they are authentic when they come in!!

Hi there, thanks for your welcomes a couple of weeks ago. I have just bought my first bracelet, in memory of my Nana, and can't take my eyes off it! Silver bracelet, two clips and seven two tone charms, most with special meaning (and two just because I liked them!!) There's just one problem.... so much space to fill!!!!

Thank you all for the resources on the Xi/happiness bead. I think I may take the kids to the mall today and check out a local retailer. I didn't realize they may still have some of the older inventory. Hopefully, I'll get lucky....if not, I'll check out some of the online suggestions. Thank you so much.

Hi Pandoraobsessed,

I know some folks really prefer one brand of beads like Troll or Pandora. I've done a lot of browsing online and in person and the bracelets I've built for my daughter and myself are a mix of a lot of brands. It's been my experience that the "bigger" names are all decent quality (Chamilia, Nagara, Biagi, Troll, Pandora) and blend together well.

I've also seen a lot of the smaller, local bead shops start carrying the glass beads. The quality is not on the same level........but, many of the beads are in the 2.00-5.00 range. I've found that are totally fun to pick up and use while you wait to acquire the "good" beads or just to play around with to get different looks. I'll see if I can post a picture of one of my cheapie beads.
