Sure...I went to the nearest Pandora retailer and purchased my bracelet, and I also decided to buy a bead to go along with it. I let her know that I had looked at the other options(Chamilia, etc) and decided to stick with Pandora and build something slowly. We were talking about the clips and she told me she was not sure, but wanted to make sure that I was aware that Pandora would not stand behind the warantee if a bead got stuck on one of the threads in the middle, if they did not have the clips. She had the owner come out who told me that this was in fact the case, and that she had only seen it happen twice, but they ended up having to cut the bracelet, and the person lost the bracelet and the stuck bead. She said she thought I would be fine, and that both instances she had seen were with people who had multiple beads but no clips. Seems the shifting that occurs can cause them to stick on the threads, just like anything else not "twisted on correctly" might do. If you have no clips, Pandora says it's your loss. You were warned. The other thing that the SA told me, when she was checking me out, which makes more sense, is that if you put ANY other brand, other than Pandora on one of their bracelets, the warantee is voided. Again, this would really only be a problem if you have a threading issue like I mentioned before, to where you cannot get the bead off. I can understand that, I guess, because they didn't manufacture it, but the clip thing is irritating and BS IMHO.:nogood:

Also, I would mention that they both stressed in different ways that they felt bad telling people because they didn't want someone to think they were forcing a sale, but that it was something they felt necessary to share. The SA also told me about some of their(Pandora's) policies for their vendors which I guess are very strict, too. I know they are suing Chamilia right now, and probably others, too. I can see where they are coming from, as it bears some similarities to the making of replica bags, IMO.

Very interesting. I recently bought 2 Brighton beads from my local Pandora dealer. Told them I was putting it on my Pandora too. The only thing they said was to make sure I took the Brighton beads off before I let them clean it next time as it might cause damage to the Brighton beads. I also bought Chamillia beads for my Pandora from the same retailer (they used to carry Chamillia but Pandora put a stop to that) I can't tell the difference. I have also heard Pandora is suing Chamillia.

Thanks for that info DJgirl. I would not have thought of the beads getting stuck until just the other day. One of my beads got stuck on the end of the clasp that you screw your beads on. I do not have the safety catch, but now I'm considering one.

I'm not too fond of the clips and have opted out of using it on my bracelet. If I have a clasp instead would that eliminate not needing clips for the middle? I actually kinda got one of my murano beads stuck on the end of the bracelet, but I haven't had any problems with the middle yet. The murano bead wasn't too hard to slide off or anything. It just got stuck for a sec. Any advice? Thanks!

I just bought one yesterday. There are so many cute beads, but I only bought one, so I owuld have something on it...LOL. They told me I need the locks/clips whatever they are called, but I didn't want to drop that much money at once. Also, is it just me, or does anyone else think they need more styles where these are concerned? I think they are really boring compared to everything else, yet everyone needs 2 of them on their bracelet to prevent the threading from sticking. I think it is pretty lousy that Pandora will not stand behind their warantee if you don't have the clips. I consider it an annoying ploy to make me drop more than 100 bucks on some clips I don't even really like. Lame.:thinkin:On the other hand-I love so many of the beads that I look forward to getting a really neat bracelet built over time!
I felt that way about the security chains!

I have a full bracelt with one clip and now the side that doesnt have a clip always gets stuck on an angle on the tread - i definatly need another clip because they all tighten and get stuck down one end :(

I see chic_chick got in first! yes it was gilletts I was referring to :)
they don't sell or discount Pandora at this stage, I think the parent compant keeps pretty strict control over what their retailers do.
I did go to one shop that was selling all their stock out as they had decided to no longer carry Pandora, and they sold everything at 30% off, I did buy quite a bit back then, but by the time I got there, they had already sold quite a lot of their stock.
