Overstock.com Authenticity

Some people have received authentic merchandise. However, I received a Fendi Spy that was fake. Thankfully I was able to return it. It's really a hit or miss with them.

i wonder if sometimes people buy an authentic bag from overstock -- but then RETURN a fake bag! so the next person who buys it get stuck with a fake!

is that possible do you think? might explain their occasional fake bag.

they seem like a HUGE company that couldn't get away really with selling fakes

^^ That's totally plausible. The last time I was browsing Overstock, I noted they had a paragraph in their description that stated that the bag would be shipped with a security tag and the security tag must be on the bag in order to return the bag. They probably set up this rule for that very reason.

I haven't bought any bags from overstock.com, but I have bought Gucci and Prada shoes from that store, and they are definitely genuine

I have known several girls who bought Chloe and BAL from Overstock.. more recently. Bags came w/ security tags. There was an issue "ago" with Overstock, Smartbargains, even Bluefly... buyers who bought bags, then returned a fake, and then the fake was re-sold. It is my understanding that all of these companies have made an effort to combat this problem via the use of security tags.
IMO, unless you purchase directly from the manufactuer or an "authorized reseller", you need to post pix of your bag and have the actual bag authenticated once received.

if ur looking for a deal id say buy it and if u HAPPEN to get a fake that another dishonest customer bought and returned, use tPF to authenticate, and just return it

I don't think they would deliberatly sell a fake, but it is possible for someone to return a fake, and it be sold again. I remember there were $10 or $15 Fendi Bandanas that people bought from Deals and Steals, I don't remember anyone complaining

I've bought a lot form them & everything has been great! They have an awesome return policy, so I say go for it!

I have never bought any designer items from them, but I have bought many other things (from dvd's to a bed) and have never had a problem. Their customer service is great - I love their instant chat. I have been satisfied with all my purchases from them.
