This is beautiful, ostrich ghillies.View attachment 4853766T
I would get another ostrich in a heart beat. It is so lovely especially as H does colors so well.
I use silk or velvet ribbon.I ostrich. My favorite was a 35 black Birkin she went everywhere with me. Then a 30 orange B but was so afraid to carry. Now my new love is a blue sapphire 35 B that I adore. I normally don’t use twillies but use them with her. Any suggestions for something other than a twilly ?
Absolutely beautiful! And what is the scarf in the second picture? Gorgeous!Would like to share with you my second NTM vintage Ostrich: B35 in Vert Veronese! Depending on the light, the colour differs:

Thank you so much! - The scarf is called “Les Amazones“ designed by Jean-Louis Dumas, first release in 1976. Saw this also for the first time here on TPF some years ago - and went on a hunt immediately thereafter...!Absolutely beautiful! And what is the scarf in the second picture? Gorgeous!
Wow amazing! I may have to go on a hunt as well as it is the year I graduated HS at the risk of dating myself, but who I am kidding I am dated!!!Thank you so much! - The scarf is called “Les Amazones“ designed by Jean-Louis Dumas, first release in 1976. I likely would buy another one but in many ways I prefer the vintage birdies as compared to the new ones.
I have always wanted a MKII or CMINI in ostrich, preferably in pink or green. To test out the leather I purchased a Calvi in Rose Tyrien and have been using it since. I have noticed that the pores get darker with use and this sort of bothers me, therefore I am no longer sure whether I want a bag in ostrich, too bad I really liked this leather.
Perhaps reading this thread might be helpful to you?How delicate is ostrich? I know that you should not expose it to water or direct sunlight anything else I should be looking out for?? TIA♥
Stay away from anything greasey. Always use twilleys unless your bag is black. stay out of the rain. It you have sweaty hands I would stay away from croc and birdie bags. I recommend H. spa treatments as recommended, especially if you live in a dry climate. Leather colors can oxidize in a dark closet with the best of care over time. My philosophy is use them carefully and sell while they are still in great condition.Perhaps reading this thread might be helpful to you?![]()
