Oran Sandal Sizing

I’m a size 39 in most brands. However, when I got the Camelia it was a tad short but I still kept it because the strap fit was perfect and to this day most comfortable sandal I have with no ‘break in’ period. I think for the sandals with a footbed that‘s higher than the edge and with a straight cut at the heel’s edge (versus the Camelia’s flat footbed and rounded edge at the heel), I should go up half a size. I did that with the Amore and it was a perfect fit for length at 39.5— though I felt that the upper/strap was loose around the foot that I have to be mindful while walking. Note that some Orans have a design with a contrasting edge so I want that exposed and didn’t want my foot to cover it so I went another half size up. While it really looks attractive, I find that the shorter strap on the Oran makes it a little difficult to walk in. I feel conscious of my steps versus feeling carefree with the Camelia.

Ooh those Camelias look very comfortable! May I ask if you have skinny feet? The Hermes flat sandals never quite fit correctly at first because my foot is fairly skinny (too much room between my foot and the H strap in the Oran, for example)

Not too skinny and my arches are normal. I usually go for medium width. If a shoe is narrow, I can go up a size and it would fit OK. The deeper/wider straps on the Camelia does grip my foot better so I find it most comfortable.

Hello! I recently bought my first pair of Orans! I typically wear a size 40 in most brands but when I was in the store, my SA felt that the 39.5 was a better fit. Now that I'm home, I feel like they might be too small? I've been doing some research and feel like I don't have enough clarity on whether they are meant to fit like this and will eventually stretch (if they do stretch/relax, how much?) or if I should gone with a size 40. Thank you so much in advance! I'm dying to wear them but I feel like I need some reassurance :)

I think these look exact on you. I don’t own orans but is there something that’s bothering you? I don’t find the toes to be too far out or the heel overhanging. The H strap seems snug enough too. But you are the best judge. If you’re concerned, there’s probably reason to be.

Lengthwise, they seem ok. Are you concerned about width? Im normally a 7.5 in most brands but depending on the style size up or down .5 a size. 37 Santorinis are perfect on me, but 38 in Orans seem to be the right length vs 37.5, which I found odd.

Looking at your photos, lengthwise, they look exact on you. I, personally, like my sandals with a bit of space on the front that’s why I went 1 size up. But I don’t advice that if you have narrow feet. Just keep the soles clean so you won’t have a problem returning them in case you change your mind.

If it helps, this is exactly how my Orans fit. I am normally someone that likes to have a little bit more room length wise but on my SA's advise I picked the 39 and let me tell you I am very clad i did. The sandals expand. Mine has expanded to the point where there is a gap between my feet and the H and if i had gone up, I probably would not be able top walk in them comfortably.

Sadly, I found if I went up in size for more length, the shoe volume was way too big. Orans don’t really work for me. Ideally I would have 38 length and 37 volume of the foot. I don’t have narrow feet either. I am a 37 birkenstock, gucci; 37.5 Hermes boot; 38 chanel combat boot and espadrille; 37.5 chanel ballet flat; ; 37 Dior; 37.5 valentino
perhaps i will try an insole for the orans I already own

I thought it might be interesting to post these pics from the Hermes website, which show the way the models wear Oran sandals. Their feet are right up to the edge on both toe and heel. This is how mine fit me and I still wonder if I've got the right size!

Interesting. I've always thought if a shoe fits like this you should go up to the next size. I'm not comfortable if my foot is hanging off the back at all. I'd like to try a pair of these but I think I'll wait until I can try them on in a store.

I like spacing in the front so I go 40.5. The goat skin suede are looser so the 40.5 in those are almost too big. I went up half a size for the fluffy ones and they are fine for me. There’s some room in front and back but I don’t have issues walking in them.

I just received my Black Orans in my TTS 37. I normally wear 7 (and 37) in all my shoes, sandals, sneakers in all brands. Initially these also fit like a glove but wearing around the house they made my feet hurt, the upper strap became uncomfortable and my normal/wide feet seems just bad in it.
I loved Orans but unfortunately I have to return them. Hope I can find the same in half size up..

Just to give you a heads up, if there is any wear at all on the sole from wearing around the house, Hermes will not accept your return.

Edited to add that I am saying this based on other members' experiences, not my own!
