Just to give you a heads up, if there is any wear at all on the sole from wearing around the house, Hermes will not accept your return.

Edited to add that I am saying this based on other members' experiences, not my own!

+1

I was going to mention this too. Which is why I always try them on carpet first.

Thank you so much for the valuable comments, I also saw the said comment and was afraid to be denied for the return indeed. I immediately checked the soles and there was not even a single scratch, thank god :)
In addition I am also hesitant to return them as well.. In time I felt the fit is just fine, just like the pictures in h.com. So I guess I am safe to say that Orans run true to size :)

Sadly, I found if I went up in size for more length, the shoe volume was way too big. Orans don’t really work for me. Ideally I would have 38 length and 37 volume of the foot. I don’t have narrow feet either. I am a 37 birkenstock, gucci; 37.5 Hermes boot; 38 chanel combat boot and espadrille; 37.5 chanel ballet flat; ; 37 Dior; 37.5 valentino
perhaps i will try an insole for the orans I already own
This summer, I’ve been wearing my metallic orans size 38. And I just purchased another 38 In etoupe epsom (thise seem to have more volume, so sometimes I wear a tongue pad on the ball of the sole, sometimes not (I have temperamental feet)
the 38s have a little more length which I prefer in a slip on sandal.

I picked up my Etoupe Orans today, and epsom seems to fit me better than calfskin. I tried my normal size 7.5 in calfskin and I thought the length looked just right, but it felt a bit loose… the 8 in Epsom looks better lengthwise, and has a better fit. Walked for a bit and they didn’t feel like they were going to slip or fly off, and won’t stretch like calfskin.

I thought about adding a rubber sole on mine but I don’t know how to do that and I don’t know whether you can add a rubber sole to Orans which have already been used.
Yes, initially they are slippery but they get better with use - or maybe I’m just wrecking mine :whut:

Go to a cobbler and tell them you want a half rubber sole on the shoe. I have no idea if they can be applied to soles that have been worn.

If you’re in the US and near a Nordstrom some of them (all, maybe?) do shoe repairs even on shoes you did not purchase there.

For all of you that has had a few pairs of Oran, do you wear them as is - or do you resole them with a rubber sole underneath?
I find them to be super slippery!
I thought about getting a rubber sole added, but decided against it and wear them as is and find that they grip just fine. Reasoning was the rubber sole would disrupt the balance/mechanics of the shoe. Not sure if others feel the same?

Hey everyone, I am kindly hoping for your help! Since I wear a 39 in Oasis but tried Orans in 39 once and could not get them onto my feet, I thought I try my luck again and order a 39 and a 39,5 to compare. While theoretically, both should have the same length with the 39,5 being a bit wider, my order pairs do differ with the 39,5 really looking half a size bigger lengthwise. Would someone kindly measure their 39/39,5 orans so I get a better grip as which one the sandals actually has the standard lenght? TIA

Hi everyone so I just bought a pair of the oran sandals I’m like a 6-6.5 shoe someone told me to do a 37. I do have bunions so it makes my feet wider so I did end up doing the 37. I got them today and I have some room on the back but perfect around the H should I keep the 37 with a little room on the back or exchange for a 36.5 to have my foot at the end of the back. Will they stretch a lot where the 37 will be to big then? Need help

37 for what is considered the modern proper fit. If there is a bit of room in the back and proper fit at the fromt. it’s less likelu to stretch if the fit is correct.
