Strangely enough, I never ever notice when she gains and loses..It like she looks the same to me or something.. And as an 'issue' she's done this SOO many times already. She needs to just deal on her own instead of turning it into an issue for her show or her mag... No one really cares at this point..

^I agree. I don't watch enough Oprah show to notice that she gained weight and I don't really care to be honest. I'm sick of hearing about it too. Control what you eat and exercise regularly to stay healthy. She's got all the money in the world (and a personal chef, physicians and trainer). She looks great the way she is and should accept the fact that she's not going to be 110lbs unless she undergoes a surgery.

She has no excuse to be 200 pounds, she has a personal trainer, chef, and all the money she wants at her disposal.

If I had the money she had I'd be toned and at a healthy weight. As it is I feel pretty darn good about myself and don't feel the need to discuss my weight with anyone besides my doctor, who says I'm healthy.

Yawn...

I swear this is a publicity stunt. Now we will all be watching her lose weight and that will be an added 10 shows about how she did it again etc. I swear her agent tells her "gain some weight so we have something to talk about again."

I'm not sure she wants to discuss it, but all the trash tabloids have been making it an issue. When others keep bringing it up, she doesn't have much choice but to address it. She struggles with her weight, but I think everyone should just drop it. Yes, she has the trainers and chefs and everything else, but she just likes food MORE. It isn't anyone else's business. She knows the health risks, so if she wants to be fat and happy, then let her be.

Exactly! With so many others pointing it out and reporting it, I think that it's good that she took it into her own hands and said "this is my story. Here it from me and not the rumors from all others."

Also, she has a thyroid problem that cause the weight gain. So, it's not just a matter of loving food and not taking advantage of her ability to hire trainers and chefs.

My sister-in-law has a thyroid problem and trust me, you don't gain 40lbs because of it. To do that you've got to be doing little exercise and eating poorly. I'm glad that Oprah's addressing her weight gain but I hope she actually sticks to it this time and doesn't turn it into another fad diet and publicity stunt like all the others. It's got to be a life choice not just a quick fix, otherwise (as she's proven time and time again) the results won't be permanent, the weight will return and the underlying issue will still be there.

Even with all the money in the world for chefs, personal trainers, nutrionists, etc... the weight gain may come from a deep personal issue [addiction maybe] :shrugs: who knows??? Although it's still not an excuse, i'm glad she lets the world in with her problems. It just lets us know that she faces the same EXACT issues like the rest of us poor folks :p Billionaire or not.. just goes to show that money can't buy everything! :nogood:

Yeah I don't think that money somehow equals willpower and commitment either. Thankfully, you don't need money to be successful at those things, just as money doesn't buy those things.

I just wonder if her weight isn't something that has lost it's effectiveness as an issue. Cause how much more different could this time around be than the last couple of times?? How much more money can the people she promotes get out of the public just based on cutting calories and jogging, essentially?

Why does she wait until she's 40 lbs heavier to realize that she got issue with weight. For me if I'm 5 lbs heavier or 5lbs lighter I will start my work out routine (I do work out heavily in order to gain weight) or eat slightly less or slightly more than within one month you're back to normal, because i can feel it the moment your cloth doesn't fit nicely. Can't afford to buy new size of clothing every time you gain weight of lose weight.

Oprah gave up fad diets some time ago. And your sister's throid problem may not be the same as Oprah so you can't say what Oprah should be experiencing with her thyroid problems.

I'm shocked at the irritation that some people are showing towards her decision to admit that she has gained weight again (and I'm not just talking about some people on here, I mean the public in general). I don't see anything wrong with it. If you don't want to hear about it, ignore it. I think because she has always been so open and candid about her weight issues, she had no reason to believe it would be a problem this time around.
