That's so sad, we all get so attached to our pets. Perhaps sometime in the future she could go to a dog rescue centre and give an unwanted dog a good home

Oh that is really sad. You could tell Oprah loved sophie so much. She had 3 dogs and now she only has one. She must be devastated. I know that when my cat of 17 years died I was heartbroken and still get choked up thinking about her.

How sad! I feel for her, losing a pet is so hard. I'll never forget when my 1st cat Max passed away from a brain tumor. He's been gone for over 10 years but I still miss him terribly and I sometimes tear up when thinking about him or looking at his pictures.

I heard this news yesterday and I was so saddened by it. I own a Cocker Spaniel and she means everything to me. I could see Oprah had that same connection with Sophie. And then she also just lost her Golden Retriever in such a horrible, tragic way.

Oh my gosh how terrible. My dog is my kid and it seems like Oprah's dogs are her kids. So soon after the other dog....how tragic.

I'm so sorry to hear that My puppy is 1 years old and when I think of him dieing I tear up because I am so attached to him . He's very attached to my family and does not like strangers...It just makes me love him more

O no... I lost my cat to kidney failure a few years ago... broke my heart.
my thoughts go out to oprah, who has just lost her baby sophie (those dogs really are are children)

i'm sad for her and anyone who loses a pet, they are just like a child. I've lost many animals in my life...I grew up on a small farm and lost calves, cows, horses, etc. When you are the nurturer of any animal it is always a terrible feeling when they pass.

My heart goes out to Oprah and every other animal lover out there who has lost a beloved pet.

I have two young beagles and often think of how I will deal with their deaths. It isn't something I want to think about at all, and brings tears to my eyes when I do think about it. My dogs are my life.
