I am perilously close to purchasing the City Steamer MM in black, with gold hardware. Sigh! There is so much I love about the City Steamer bags, only one item being that gold lock that sparkles in the center of the bag. I don't think I would need to use the locked inside pocket. However, I am wondering if leaving the lock where it is meant to be will eventually cause the leather under the lock to become scratched or abraded from the repeated rubbing of the lock against the leather. I am wondering if the lock moving back and forth will eventually create a "smile" on the leather underneath the lock. Any feedback from you lucky lovelies who have a Steamer is much appreciated!

I wear mine with no lock or tag. I like the simple understated look without anything hanging off of the bag and I can still turn the buckle to lock the pocket which I only use for slim items such as letter or small document holder.

The GM is mostly taller. I think what you listed will fit easily, there might not be too much room to spare.

The City Steamer is a very classic style that is quite understated (the non exotic non fancy versions) and would suit traditional and conservative dress very well in my opinion.

I can only speak for me though so hopefully you get the opportunity to see the bag in the flesh before you commit.

I was originally set on the GM in black and once in the store I went for the East West (as wide but shorter than the MM) in navy/black/khaki. Turns out it was a limited edition so this one is not available anymore but I absolutely love it!

I was mainly considering PM or MM size. I can’t lift too heavy bags to due to weak back and shoulders. Therefore I’m unable to own a Capucines despite of loving it!
Thanks!

After nearly two years of buying (and then selling :annoyed:) many of the "super popular" LV bags, I've started to buy bags that really speak to me. Unfortunately, these bags seem to be much more expensive!! I've been trying to decide between a Capucines BB or PM, but then I saw HER.
Here's my latest addition, the stunning City Steamer PM in Framboise! View attachment 3610726
I was initially concerned about the talk of the scratch-able smooth leather, but this seems to have the grain to it so I'm hoping she's as durable as she looks!

Michelle,
Hi! I hope you are doing well.
I need your help!

As you have the City Steamer in the PM size, which I’m considering can you please answer few of my questions—
1) Can Capucine compact wallet/ Victorine wallet; iPhone 7 plus; LV mini pochette(medicines); dry facial tissues; wet wipes, 6ring key holder; DE cles (coins); 1 lipstick; sunglasses and reading glasses fit in City Streamer PM ?
2) How heavy is the bag both empty as well as full?
3) In the Rouge Noir colour, is hardware gold or silver? What is the exact colour of “Rouge”? Scarlet? Wine? Burgundy? Cherry?
Thanks!

I personally like both bags, but I have been favoring the City Steamer the late few years.

I prefer the structure of the City Setamer over the Capucine. Some of the softer leathers used on the Capucines seem to sag a little more overtime vs the CS bag. The weight of the MM CS vs MM Capucine and the available color selection has also a part of my preference of the CS.

It’s a hard choice, both the CS and Capucine’s are great bag. It should come down to the bag you like the best, you can't go wrong with either bag.

As a side note, I did order the Splash Capucine PM over the Splash Mini-City Steamer knowing the Calf leather will keep its shape over time and I prefer a the larger bag.

Kim,
Hi!
Which of the two is lighter Capucine PM vs City Steamer BB?
TIA!

Can one replace the lock with a bag charm?????

Hello,
The City Steamer Mini and the City Steamer PM are both lighter than the Capucine PM.
My guess is you could hang a charm where the lock is, but I wear the bag with all the hardware that came with the bag.
As far as what it holds, I carry a wallet, large IPhone, sunglasses, misc makeup, keys and it fits fine. I think it will be a little small for everything you want to carry. But I don’t like to over fill my bags.
Good luck,
KimMN

Of course one could replace the lock with a bag charm. Speaking only for myself, I think that lock is exquisite! It is what makes the City Steamer. The lock is what gives it the timeless classic look that is a nod the LV luxury luggage that is part of its DNA. I would not replace that gorgeous lock with a bag charm.

This was the bag I was waiting on for Aug. Excited to join the City Steamer clubhouse! Love this bag but I think the luggage tag is missing. If I’m not mistaken there should be a python luggage tag. For those that own this handbag don't all of them come with a tag? My CA is checking into it.

Lovely! Yes, I believe it should include a luggage tag. I haven't seen any steamer releases without one. So hopefully your associate can track it down for you.

My CA texted and said he couldn’t find it at the boutique so he had to email their corporate office. I hope I’m able to get one otherwise I feel like I should return the bag. I paid full price for an incomplete bag. Since I’m a newbie to the City Steamer, I didn’t realize it was supposed to have a tag until I brought it home and started looking at other models of the Steamer online. :whut:

Your bag is gorgeous. Congrats. But yes it should have a luggage tag on the handle. Every single one pictured on their website has one. Good luck, I hope they can find it.

Thank you. Latest update is that he heard back from corporate. Yes, it should have a tag on it. Bad news is they can’t order a replacement because of the python. Good news it that I’ll get a another bag with the tag. Happy LV took care of me.
