For size reference I also included a picture of a birkin 30. It's funny how everybody recognizes the birkin but the city steamer is so under the radar and I think so lovely especially in ostrich. I'm not the best picture taker, let me know if you need more.

Is the original lock on the city steamer identical to the standard LV padlock that you’d find on a speedy or alma? I’m interested in a preloved mm city steamer but it’s missing the lock, so I was thinking of possibly using one of the locks that I already have.
The lock is the standard padlock, but the newer shiny version, not the older brass

I don’t think it is discontinued per se but it is not in active production either. What I am trying to say is that you may not find the basic models in the boutiques. However, an SA can pull up the available leather finishes if you inquire in boutique and it can be special ordered for you. It is mainly in exotics at this point. The same goes for the rose des vents model. It only comes in exotics hence the special order. Hope that helps.
Wanted to help since I’ve been on the lookout for city steamers and rose Des Vents. I’ve seen now in both US and Europe - exotics only. And even those are hard to find stock / availability.
I would ask your SA for help if interested, they can help you find stock across the country besides what’s just on the website.
